Exactly! Another instance of Death Ray lying and Metrograft destroying our history. This is a terrible location for Transfinder-let them move to empty ALCO or the Maxon Road Industrial Park. Zoning "Officer" Stickman made a fool of himself hanging up on the press and others demanding information. Planning DEM moron style. Follow the money and screw the taxpayers.

So, if there is no restoration of the facade (as the demolition will take care of that), Transfinders should not receive the $60K.

And yes Bumble, Transfinders just moved from down the street as they were located at 120 Erie Blvd for years.

Also, Transfinders has (maybe) 50 employees now...and Metroplex has hopes that they'll have 125??? Tax exemptions, 2 grants and not even ANY NEW JOB CREATION!!!

Everything these DEM idiots do is a joke on the taxpayers. Then they have the nerve to blame their regressive taxation on others. Move Transfinder into the empty Trustco HQ on Erie. Put that on the tax rolls after idiot Death Ray took it off 5 years ago. Watch them rape the taxpayers for more money or threaten to leave the County. Look for a never ending PILOT or a bigger cash handout. Then they will demand a political contribution. But no one say nuthin. Death Ray and DEM operative Steve Stickman should be fired for lying to the taxpayers.  

Idiotic "planners" are one reason Schenectady has been going downhill so rapidly. It almost seems as if they look at what has been done successfully inother old, historic areas and stubbornly do the opposite. Truly sickening.

Does anyone have a summary of why they say it needs to be demolished?  Doesnt make any sense.  

I don't have one. Probably because like always the idea to demolish comes first, and a reason is made up later.
There are actually tourists who come to this area looking for the rich history, and are dismayed not to find it at all.

I looked at the link attached in the first port but can not find out what they will build in its place.  Will the duplicate it.  They should not be ale to use the excuse that it is too costly to retain the origional archetecture.  This building is beautifil.  They even have the balls to say that terracotta while once an inexpensive building material is now very expensive.  Only in Schenectady do we move backwards.  Try putting up a fiberglass porch column in a Schenectady Historic Disctric and you will be shut down.....what a crock.

There is no appreciation of history except from Don Rittner who the City DEMS defund. Rittner is responsible all the movie shoots that provide more stimulus than anything Metrograft has done. Plenty of empty space on Erie and ALCO that has no historical significance. This is more DEM campaign fraud. It was never an appropriate site. Death Ray lied about putting this building, with existing facade, on the City tax rolls. The worst is "planner" Steve Stickman who hung up on anyone questioning this debacle. In Schenectady you make big bucks keeping the "planning" hidden from public input.

Show up at City Hall 6:30 pm tonight for the planning commission meeting. They don't like controversy. This is going to be destroyed like the train station by the DEM morons. The fix is in. Hold these DEM political appointees accountable if they support horrible Death Ray and Stickman. Disgusting destruction of our history.

The problem is how long can you keep beating your head against a wall? If you were to call anyone in the city to speak against this craziness, they might pretend to listen politely but are convinced against all expert opinion to the contrary that their way, their unfounded ignorant way of destroying everything and giving away taxpayer money, is best.

They won't answer the phone. City Zoning "Official" Steve Stickman is hanging up on residents. Show up at the planning commission meeting tonight. If there is a hostile crowd they will table it giving us more time to organize. Don't let them do what they did to the old train station.
