The results of the supervisor race tell me that Rotterdam is no less divided than 2 years ago.  We have gone two election cycles where the Town Supervisor was unable to win with majority support of the town.

Good luck to Supervisor Buffadi, you may be sitting with fellow democrat and conservative party members while sitting on the Town Board, but, the majority of residents sitting in the seats at the Town Board meeting DID NOT vote for you.

The residents will be sharpening their arrows, and this board will be under a microscope.

Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.

Hey, RVOR, I don't know what Cicero's answer to this is, but my reply would be yes, I would say the same thing.  We have now subtracted from the number of people on the TB that got 50% of the vote to enter office.

In rotterdam Bufarti will have the total support and control of the town board but not of the town itself. But I guess a win is a win no matter how ya get it.

The difference is that Supervisor-elect Buffardi has the personality and skills that allow him to work well with others --- he will be TEAM BUILDER -- a CONSENSUS BUILDER ----  a LEADER.

“And yet our opponents tell us not to interfere with abortion. They tell us not to impose our morality on those who wish to allow or participate in the taking of the life of infants before birth. Yet no one calls it imposing morality to prohibit the taking of life after a child is born. We’re told about a woman’s right to control her own body. But doesn’t the unborn child have a higher right, and that is to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?” – Ronald Reagan

This is a test of whether or not Rotterdam can agree on anything but what the personal agenda for each one
elected is.

Divided in politics?   they are just divided among themselves...all parties..we just mention REPs and DEMS
there is more to it than just these two parties.

What appears on the outside is not always the truth of the matter.....Politics has taught me not to judge,
trust, or believe until the proof is in the pudding..

I may be naive in the "ART: of politics, but from what I have seen so far...no one has common sense, or
true interest in the people that elected them.

With all this chatter and most critical, I have no faith whatsoever in the newly elected officials because of the
BS that went along with this past election.  A supervisor, that really didn't want to run, former lawmen who
banter with no brains,(one will be the Deputy Super) council that said nothing, and a TC who doesn't deserve to
be in that office.with a track record that is oh so convuluted.

As the old saying goes, actions speak louder than words. Time will tell what type of Supervisor HB will be and if he's just another tax and spend politician I would hope the voters in Rotterdam will vote him out of office in the next election.

in 2013 they will be saying the same BS about you......maybe not....because all HB will do....is show up...

I believe Rotterdamians will be pleasantly surprised at what is in store for the next 2 years.
