Not very good at keeping on top of his finances. Must be someone else fault. Sadly he is running to be the chief fiscal officer of our town- Rotterdam, New York. That is very scary. Harry looks good and has nice hair, and a very commanding voice. But he should not be in charge of anyone's money if he can't manage his own. Does anyone know how much he went over his overtime budget when he was running the jail? It wasn't HIS money, so it was even worse. I remember a headline that showed he spent over $860,000 whelie his budget was $500,000. This is scary. If he elected then consider selling before the double digit increases.

double digit tax increases will NOT happen -- can not happen -- with a 2% tax cap  .. once again Joe Suhrada  (GB) is spouting a bunch of lies

“And yet our opponents tell us not to interfere with abortion. They tell us not to impose our morality on those who wish to allow or participate in the taking of the life of infants before birth. Yet no one calls it imposing morality to prohibit the taking of life after a child is born. We’re told about a woman’s right to control her own body. But doesn’t the unborn child have a higher right, and that is to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?” – Ronald Reagan

No, I'm pretty sure it is FACTUAL that Buffardi went more than 50% over the Sheriff overtime budget.  You put that together with his personal finances and tax delinquencies , and it kinda paints a picture of a person that cannot manage finances too well.  Both personal and professional finances.

Shhhhhhhhh! The important news is whether or not Herman Cain flirted with a woman, winked or told a risque joke. Besides, getting to the heart of the matter at this late date AFTER these taxes were paid is irrelevant since Harry is a Democrap and that would be giving the electorate too much information. Furthermore, people who work at the jail can already spend their taxpayer funded hours there reading this forum to find out who to put on the enemies' list, they don't need to see it in the DG Pravda!!

Yes, not a newsworthy story.  After all, why should the town residents know the candidates record on handling finances.  It's not like the supervisor has a special role in handling the towns money...Ohhh...Wait, I found the additional roles that the Town Supervisor is responsible for in NYS.  Let's look:

Quoted Text
Treasury
Under New York State law, town supervisors are to "act as treasurer and have care and custody of monies belonging to the town." Taxes collected at the local level and funds raised or donated to the town all pass under the care of the supervisor, who reports the town's finances at regular intervals. Although an administrative task, the treasury management is a huge responsibility granted to a person trusted and elected by the townspeople.

Payer
The town supervisor's treasury duties don't stop at collection and reporting. He is also in charge of disbursing town money as needed and as the board orders. Fixed town salaries and other regular expenses, and keep an accurate records of transactions. Further financial duties include giving taxes collected to local fire districts and other service providers that may serve multiple villages.

Remember, it is not a story. It is all false. A big error on behalf of the State Department and the Taxation Department and they did it on two separate occasion! Really!!! If we it gets discussed, even though it is posted on an official Department of State website, then it is "slander." It has to be kept out of the public's hands!!!

How is discussing a government document that was published on a state website "slander"?  That would mean warrants for tax delinquency are now considered malice.  I would have to believe the 1st Amendment protects speech that is directed toward a public official, especially speech that is discussing an official government document that is pubic record.

You are correct, Cicero. Any kind of lawsuit that targets people discussing a political race where a candidate is running for office would be considered a SLAPP lawsuit which would be an attempt to limit public participation and free speech. I did a little home work on that one. I have posted it here in the past. There are specific statutes and of course case law. The tax warrants that existed are posted and have been confirmed at the State Department and have been filed by the New York State Dept. of Taxation and Finance. They are actual tax warrants. They exist. They have been satisfied. We don't know why or what they regard other than they are there. I don't expect to get anyone to discuss them because as I know and many folks know- they just don't happen on their own.

However if there is any kind of attempt to use the courts to suppress the discussion of information during a campaign then there will be many folks ready to meet that dictatorial challenge head on and with all resources. I for one, and not bowed by anyone's threats. Of course some people ignore history!

It appears that the link above is from THE STATE OF NY.....yes?
Would this NYS TAX AND FINANCE warrant/document be considered slanderous?
Is discussing a state document considered slanderous?
Perhaps Robert Freeman from the dept for open government could answer that best.....yes?
Can't these documents be FOILED for as well?

It is apparent tho that the one was satisfied 'just before' petition signing....yes?

I am pretty sure that I was speaking about the LIES that suggest that somehow taxes will go up double-digit if the Democrats are elected ---- TAXES CAN NOT GO UP MORE THAN 2%.

is it that you just can't get it or just refuse to get it ?

But there is nothing stopping them from charging fees just like the city does to get around the 2% cap.
