re the Brass Rail   small bite of what really happened

2010 budget  for 3 PT workers   26,960.83

2011 budget for 3 PT workers    21.255.00  -    10441.11  encumbrances as of 9/30/11

2012 budget for 3 PT workers    15,000.00  -     requested by Department

What needs to be said here is that in 2011 the budget decreased by $7,705.83  from 2010

Jan 2011  reappointment and it was intended that 1 worker would be eliminated...caucus before appt. and
compromise that worker would be in the budget  ....     Now budgeted salary for 3  >>>> $21,255.00 >>>
3 people working with 2 salaries.

40 hrs/week ... designated for 3 workers  as follows:  (1) 17/hrs @ $13.00/hr
                                                                 **  (2)  11.5 x 2 = 23/hrs @ $8.50/hr  

Looks fair??

  Tips eliminated by TB...presented in rules and adopted ..
New schedule eliminated 2 employees for Fridays...**
Other EVENTSt were spun to some people's advantage and no one knows to this day what really
happened.  What happened to the 2 workers....were they fired???? did they quit???? did they resign?
  Nothing has  broken their spirit or their character...and there is life after the Brass Rail, contrary to how
others regard life.

Draw your own conclusions....the welcome mat was pulled out from both of these dedicated employees who
  . loved their jobs and took good care of the customers that came to eat and socialize in the Brass Rail.

ALL TAKEN AWAY FOR POLITICAL REASONS AND PERSONAL AGENDA....CALLED ABUSE OF POWER.

Now saving the Brass Rail with budget formulated that possibly... 1 person will run it....or the unused
balance for 2011( with under-handed  shananigans that were deliberate), to hire more help.

A friend of ours works at a busy diner...from 6am  to noon and makes well over $100 bucks/day including tips!!!  And no political bullsh!t!!

It is shame full that the rotterdam taxpayers are actually paying for an antiquated building for antiquated people to GOSSIP!!! The stats prove that the boomers will not be joining any senior centers in the future. And if they are....it ain't gonna be rotterdam's that's for sure! The boomers have a life and appears to have a bit more class!!!

Can someone explain to me why the senior center needs a cafeteria? Isn't there a Stewies, a diner and a restaurant all within walking distance?

The center was supposed to be light lunch.....coffee, refreshments.

The seniors eat there at a low cost....but the cost of what it has become is way over the line and the reputation
it has today is something to be desired...

The seniors are being used as a pawn for political gain and to show the Town ....look, it's mine and I'll do what I want...even if it means being insubordinate....now terminated,   but still in the picture with the guise of being a
senior citizen.

THEY DON'T NEED IT....CLOSE IT.....THE TOWN WILL BE A BETTER PLACE WITHOUT IT......
