Plans are underway to organize a fundraiser -- proceeds from which will be used to purchase new equipment for the Challenger team and for the club house at Woestina Park.

The good news is that the fields themselves and the structures within the park were not destroyed by the flooding.    All of the sports equipment and cooking/food storage equipment in the clubhouse was destroyed and all of the drywall had to ripped out and will need to be replaced.

The damage is not covered under the town's insurance nor the league's insurance .. but we have volunteers ready to raise the funds and do the work.    The Challengers did an awesome job in 2010 investing over $40,000 of their own funds to rehabilitate the park AT NO COST TO THE TOWN TAXPAYERS.   This time -- the cost will be much less -- but AGAIN .. the Parks and Recreation Commission and the League intend to do what is need to reopen the park for the use by the league and ALL Rotterdam residents AT NO COST TO THE TOWN TAXPAYERS.

Our hope is to have the clubhouse cleaned up and equipped in time for the start of the Challenger's 2012 season.

in light of the flooding -- the commission will be looking into upgrading park facilities and amenities to limit any further damage from future flooding events.

And you were speaking out at the debate in 09' against them having the park. Dickershaid knows what you said. He saw the DVD. Nice to see you have a change of heart. Did you check with Bob and Dom and Randy and the others before you decided to change your mind, though?

There you go again with your lies --- I have ALWAYS supported the Challengers being able to use Woestina Park.    I have never said anything to even remotely suggest otherwise.

The FACT is that at the 2009 Candidate Forum at the Senior Center -- the ONLY thing that I said was that the use of ANY of our town parks should NOT be used a political issue.   And as long as I have something to say about the matter --- our town parks will not be used as a "political football" to kick around and try to score points with.

So Mr. GB -- whoever you are -- you can take your alleged DVD and stick it where the sun doesn't shine.

Then don't politicize the Challenger field. You did nothing to get it for them, your party was against it because the copservatives you worship 'said so', and you never once lifted a finger to get the a permanent home.

You had nothing to do with it getting done in any way shape or form, yet you tout this as your accomplishment, and you attack the people who HAVE done something about it and HAVE supported them financially. You are a giant and hideous sack of pervert schit. Being anywhere near you is a disgusting feeling. You should never be allowed to be near those children. What people know about you is alarming enough that you need not ever be alone with any of them.

You are one of those few individuals who I would think most people would not offer counsel to if they knew you were contemplating suicide. There might be many that would say "go ahead." You are that much a a fake, sickening, phony, pathetic subhuman of a creature who lies, dreams, schemes and politicizes your way through your fantasy filled and sick life. You have zero accomplishments, ever. A trust fund baby with nothing but a twisted, internet dreamland to play in.

Neither the Democratic Party nor myself have ever been opposed to the Challengers using the field.  In fact, I have supported it since  Late spring/Early Summer of 2009 -- that is when the Parks and Recreation Commission first met and when I became aware of the proposal.

I have never taken any credit for the work that the Challengers have done and are doing -- All of my statements have only been praising the Challenger League for the great work that THEY have done.  The Challenger League - when mentioned - is cited as THE example of how  volunteers from the community ( I can't say just town - because they came from many places)  can come together and accomplish something beneficial for the town.

That is all that needs to be said on the "diversion" from the actual topic of the thread -- because that is the plain, unvarnished truth.

The people who want to VOLUNTARILY donate money or time to the parks are the ones being asked to help out.  And  SOME of the candidates for town and county office have donated money and time to the Parks Commission's various efforts.

The funny thing is that I did not see a single one of the NNN's ar ANY event .. cleanups, fundraisers, etc --- the posters and candidates who rant/scream about taxes and that government should do more with less are the VERY people that are NEVER around when it comes to volunteering time and money for community efforts.   They are the ones that suggest what SOMEONE ELSE should do -- how SOMEONE ELSE should spend their money ... how SOMEONE ELSE should spend their time.

I think it is a about time that the nayboobs and teapartiers and NNTPer's started walking the walk .. instead of just talking the talk.

Maybe it's because the head of this committee has done such a horrible job getting the word out that the "NNN" haven't even heard when and where you're meeting, so they COULD show up, or maybe you don't even know who they actualy are, so you could carry on a half-hour conversation with one of them, but you would still believe that you've never met one of them?  So. what's the next thing that the Parks and Recreation committee has coming up?  Maybe we'll fit it into our schedule.

Believe me, even though I did not see a single one of the NNN's ar ANY event --- the Challengers would not want right-wing teapots like YOU -- or JM, GB, BM or the assorted ilk there or anywhere else near them---as a matter of fact I am sure they would offer you nothing but a kick --squarely in the behind -- for being a Negative Nayboob! So shove it.....NONE of you offer anything but lies and your whines.

Currently Harry Buffardi and the rest of the Magnificent Seven have a plan which is yet to be unveiled (after the election) which will put all of the leagues directly under the umbrella of the town Parks and Recreation Commission where they will free from any interference and sabotage from the Nattering Nayboobs of Negativity and the various ilk that controls the Republican party.......You will need to work THROUGH the town if you want to be near these groups or offer assistance -- so while you and the other sad elephants that try to hurt the children the DEMOCRATIC PARTY WILL MAKE SURE THEY ARE TAKEN CARE OF and with their own funds -- will NOT coat the taxpayers ANYTHING!

Funny, GG, I thought I was writing to Ron (aka DVOR), but you seem to have the answers to any time he has a question.  That leads me to think one of 2 things, either you're also Ron... or one of his handlers, either one that lives with him, or runs his party.  "right-wing teapots," they would not like there, but I wonder, if we sent a check, would they cash it?  You bet your bottom line, they would.  When will any official announcement come out regarding what is going on with the issues in Woestina, so that maybe us right-wing teapots could help out, or maybe show up at a time when we know you aren't there to work on things.  Or, best yet, if you don't want us helping or showing up, please let us know the hours you will be there, so that we can make sure that we don't show up.

Hey, Ron (DVOR), I see that GG states that those of us who may not necessarily agree with you on just about everything politically doesn't think that you would like for those of us on here that disagree with your political views to come to help with the rebuilding of Woestina Park.  I was wondering if you agree with this, or is this one of those points that you disagree with GG?  If so, when is this planning on being set up, so that we can come help?
