I've been hearing that Judge Kevin Mercoglan is running for the purpose of holding the Town Justice seat for Chief Hamilton, who I
believe is eligible for retirement very soon....that Mercoglan will resign in the middle of the term if re-elected.

I'm also hearing that the County Kratz have a resolution in the pipeline to create a new 'position'..."Chief Deputy Sheriff"...with
carefully crafted 'qualifications' to justify appointing the recently retired Bob Hamilton to the post.

Has anyone else heard this???

yup.....doesn't matter....it's a done deal......and that's why HB  need not win.....

This is another lie and affront to some of the finest First Responders I know -- I count the Hamiltons as my friends, and would stand up for them anytime..........

     Furthermore -- IF our Sheriff considers the post of Chief Deputy Sheriff as essential to public safety......... I would stand behind the sheriff in fending off any attempts to politicize the issue by the Nattering Nayboobs of Negativity ---- In a nutshell you can "DROP DEAD" KELLY!

I recently heard this as well.  Also heard that if elected Buffardi will resign and make Calder the Town Super.
Word on the street is that Buffardi doesn't want to serve.

Sounds like typical TJ tactics...run a viable candidate to win a seat for someone who can't win it. Calder is a well established puppet
of TJ. I do not believe HB ever wanted to run for this position.
It is my understanding that he was basically blackmailed into running by threats of revoking the waiver he needs to keep his new
job at SCCC...as if it isn't bad enough that this job was really a consolation prize after being methodically driven out as Sheriff by
the very same people 'supporting' him now. It was, in fact, TJ's stated purpose for running for the County Legislature..."to help the
Kratz 'get control' of Harry Buffardi"...just a few months after the Party spent a fortune getting him re-elected. It's almost enough
to make you feel sorry for HB.

I've never heard this from anyone except the nayboobs... I find it amusing though that the nayboobs are againsst electing cops but they have no problem running 1 for judge.... Their cops are bad, ours are good! Makes sense....
