This is a massive project for this corner. Perhaps cvs could go back to the drawing board and come up with something a little smaller. They clearly do NOT need that size parking lot for one.
Rite aid's parking lot it too big as it is. It is never even 1/2 filled at one time. Same for the cvs on altamont and chrysler and 5 corners.

I say come back after you scale it down!!

I believe the town dictates how many parking places are required, how much green space is required and how much setback from the road is required.

What's confusing to me is, why no entry on Guilderland Ave.?

the parking lot is determined by the 'size' of the building. And this building is clearly too massive for that space. It needs to be scaled down
significantly!

Take the lesson from rite aid. Those parking spaces were calculated by the size of the building. All well and good, but it is never even
1/2 full at any given time. which suggests that there aren't the overwhelming number of customers.

The 'box' needs to be much smaller!!

Does that store look that much bigger than the RiteAid?  I can't tell - this one is 13000 sq feet, which sounds about the same

As someone who shops at the 4 corners Rite-Aid, the parking lot may be 1/2 filled sometimes but there are times when it is completely filled.   It is hard to judge the CVS plan based on a single drawing - but my general thought is that ANYTHING would be an improvement over the existing situation and I trust that the Planning Commission will due a great job making sure that the final product is appropriate.

You may say that, and I may have in the past, until you actually look at the plans, and maybe talk to some of the people who actually LIVE in this neighborhood, including those who wory about their children playing in the neighborhood, or the trucks that would have to pull out directly across from their driveway, especially after having their headlights burning a hole in the residents retinas while they are sitting, unloading with their headlights on.  Anything may be an improvement, but not if you actually have to deal with it on a daily basis, like being a property owner directly affected in the neighborhood.  They also plan on ripping down 3 houses that have been occupied for over 70 years, for a pharmacy?

But Ron, you wouldn't know anything about any of this, considering you didn't decide to come out to the town board meeting, you know, where they were talking about all that important history that has recently been lost in the Junction.

Most deliveries are made during the day time and that is something that could easily be addressed by a town  ordinance.

The fact that the houses and the commercial building on the corner are over 70 years old --- is a good argument for replacing them with a newer building.   The town -- and the city -- have a lot of older housing and commercial stock that needs to gradually be updated or replaced.

Finally, CVS has had plans to consolidate and build new locations in the area for a number of years.  The fact that they are choosing to build the new location in Rotterdam is a TREMENDOUS POSITIVE.  I'd much rather have the new CVS pharmacy IN ROTTERDAM than someplace else.

So, you would appeal to CVS that you would rather have the trucks come at a time when people are walking around the neighborhood and children are out riding their bikes and playing instead of shining their lights into the homes of residents?  (Well, not as many residents anymore...)

And how would you update them once they are ripped down for this store?  Upgrading is the way to go in a neighborhood, not ripping them down and replacing them with a store that is not needed.

Yeah, it shows how much CVS really cares about Rotterdam.  Let's look at what they've done to "help" us.  They filled one old box store that closed due to the company closing down (the P&C at 5 Corners, that they are now ready to abandon).  Then, there's the other 2 locations that they have  had in town.  Hannaford Plaza and the old Brooks Pharmacy on Hamburg St.  Luckily, another store already filled in the empty location they left at Hannaford Plaza, but their Hamburg Street store is as empty today as the Curry Road Shopping Plaza and the Grand Union on Hamburg.  No, wait, there's a total of 1 business in those 2 locations, more than is at their location on Hamburg St.  You like the shuffle of businesses in town, why don't you see how the Metroplex can go ahead and push this ahead and give them a nice big tax break while you're at it.

By the way, did you get that company name and phone number back to the supervisor for him to call the business you were ready to help bring to Rotterdam?  It looks like if things go your way, maybe they'll be able to fill the store at 5 Corners in no time.  By the looks of this, it would be easier for egress and ingress at 5 Corners than it would be at 4 Corners.

Personally, if CVS decides to move to the new location, I will boycott them, and I plan on letting them know that as soon as I have a chance to find the appropriate contact information on it.

Your attitude is exactly why we have such high taxes in town --- you oppose progress and economic development.

I support the new CVS at 4 Corners and understand that something is "in the works" for the 5 Corners site ... so I am not worried about the "shuffle".

I have never advocated or participated in the boycott of a business in the town of Rotterdam nor will I ever. In fact -- despite what some would have you believe I never bashed or boycotted a certain BBQ on Burdeck Street ... I only stated that I had not been there yet.    From what I hear - some people like it and some people don't -- and someday I may make it over there to try it out and make up my own mind.

Finally, I am not a "babysitter" -- if the current Supervisor and current Deputy Supervisor lost the number after months of unprofessionally refusing to make a courtesy call -- I am NOT going to "save their butts" now. In 3 1/2 months, the Magnificent 7 and Ms. Marco will ride into Town Hall and restore pride, sanity, efficiency and integrity to town government  .. and I will work with them to bring the business that I previously mentioned and others to town.

spoken like a true american - just replace it

and what about 5 corners and its upcoming emply building

will the plex write a big check to T and V to move into the old CVS and demo that building???

doesn't this town have an ordinance reguarding 2 of the same business within x# of miles - ask pizza hut

as for ordinance - the town doesn't enforce the current ones on the books - unless you are a pizza place

You obviously do not comprehend what you read -- as I stated that something else is in the works for 5 Corners .... and obviously if they close the store at 5 corners there will not be another store with x# of miles .

5 Corners would make a great location for the world's greatest BBQ.
