I have to preface this by saying that although my voter registration says republican, I'm pretty much apolitical, or as my very conservative friend likes to describe me, a "political agnostic". Still I find the debates here interesting. I posed a question here some time ago wondering when the politics in this town became so venomous and though there were some replies it seemed nobody really had an answer.

You can't imagine my surprise when I came across this Jan. 2, 1960 article in the Gazette. Freakin' amazing!! This sh*t's been going on forever. I can just see ol' Simon Schermerhorn and John C. Becker going at it.  

The headline reads:
"Rotterdam Combine Ousts Five Kirvin-Backed Men As Catcalls Stir Session"

Very, and the carcass was much smaller to pick. Note how Kirvin was mad at them for sending the insurance over to Cervera/Feldman, then later he JOINED Cervera/Feldman obviously "if you cant beat em' join em!"

This internecine feuds are as old as the hills.

ps- Councilman Frank Damico  who was in the article just passed away this year.
