Having sampled and enjoyed a variety of BBQ places in Texas and Tennessee --- I can honestly say that Rotterdam is DESPERATELY in need of a decent BBQ place. I won't mention a specific name -- but I am exploring the possibility of bring the WORLD"S BEST BBQ to town .. sometime in the near future. |

But doesn’t the unborn child have a higher right, and that is to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?” – Ronald Reagan |

I think this is just a knock on DelGallo's BBQ joint because this creep can't rest until goes after everything when he doesn't agree with you. Besides, we all know how ridiculous it sounds that "HE" is going to bring "the world's best BBQ" to Rotterdam. That is like saying "I tastes the world's best apple and I am going to let you all taste it." or "the best hamburger in the universe is made at _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _."
I have eaten Q all over America and I can say that there isn't one "world's greatest BBQ" ever that is all-inclusive. Besides, even if there were, DVFOL will never invest in opening any business up here or elsewhere, and no business is going to be swayed by him to open a branch here. More hot wind for the talker, never substance from a doer.
Just more idiocy from a guy who thinks we need to government to regulate kids' lemonade stands. He could never compete in a capitalistic venture. |

Like everything he does, he must preface his text with wild boasts of expereinces that never happened. It's those that must boast of life that are lying and never left the backyard. BBQ to him is probably Dinty Moore! And of course, he has such power that he alone can influence a new busines to come to town. Like the time he boasted about bringing another business to town, that he wouldn't mention by name, and that never happened! It must be wonderful to live in a delusional world where life happens the way you want it to....in your mind only..........REALITY CHECK DMOR!!!! |

DVR is just one sad example of the democons and how they operate. Trying to destroy people's lively hoods and businesses is about as low as you can go. imo It appears that dvr would like to see 'certain' businesses fail because of POLITICS!! (HOW PATHETIC). And yet forget the folks that are employed by them. If any business fails....people are out of work!!! This was a clear slam to fdg's bbq...which in fact isn't even his!!! But to knock a community hometown businesses is sickening. Gee dvr....did you approve of the 'adult book store' on altamont ave.? Or perhaps you know of one that would be even 'better'....eh? And since dvr is the spokes person for the democons.....one can only assume that ALL democons feel the same way!!! dvr....don't forget the old saying.....'don't spit too high cause it will end up on your face'. You can run but you can't hide. |

Agree- but in Memphis I would try the Blues City Cafe or BB Kings on Beal St ( certainly the best ribs AND music ) and the book "1,000 Places to See Before You Die: A Traveler's Life List " recommends - the Rendezvous the entrance is in the alley behind the Peapody Hotel http://www.hogsfly.com/ - after ridding camels around the pyramids. |

This is the biggest problem in town? Call in the Metrograft bozos! Maybe they can throw thousands at Rubbin Butts to relocate from Upper Union to Curry Rd? Another example of how delusional the working together idiots have become. People are hurting and they're only thinking of free Q. |

Actually, I was out of town for over 2 weeks traveling across the country --- I left just before Hurricane Irene hit and got back a few days ago. Whether you believe that or not -- is your problem -- since IT IS THE TRUTH.
The best BBQ IMHO is found in Texas ... but Memphis is quite good ... one could argue that there is no such thing as bad BBQ. The best American food is the kind made simply and the old-fashioned way --- none of thisFood Network/"fern bar"/chain restaurant crap.
BTW - the best Grits ... I found in a place in western central Tennessee.
The best Mexican food by far was found at various small town Taquierias "off the beaten path" in Texas.
Special kudos go out to a very small town (smaller than Delanson) restaurant in rural Arkansas ... it was recommended by a lady at the John Deere dealership along the state highway ... and was well worth the few mile drive down the back roads.
I have nothing against other business people in town -- I wish them well -- I never knocked any existing BBQ establishments in town -- I am sure that they are quite good but I haven't tried their product yet. |
