Working together (on the canal system) works.
This is an unnecessary cheap partisan political attack -- especially during a time when many town residents are still suffering from the devastation of a NATURAL DISASTER. I would expect that a decent, mature and rational person would avoid such comments during a time like this -- but obviously GB is neither decent, mature or rational. |

Yet no one calls it imposing morality to prohibit the taking of life after a child is born. We’re told about a woman’s right to control her own body. But doesn’t the unborn child have a higher right, and that is to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?” – Ronald Reagan |

All politics aside: All of that experience on dams, bridges, locks, floodgates, canals and rivers is doing wonders for the head of the Canal Corp.
Does anyone remember how Bush put some donor in to run FEMA during Katrina? Does that ring a bell here? |

All politics aside - it is hardly the fault of the Director of the Canal Corp that a Hurricane, a Tropical Storm and a stalled out low pressure dumped a huge amount of rain in a 2 week period -- thus causing rivers and streams to rise past historic flood levels.
Obviously the nayboobs are grasping at straws here -- and like the low-life pond scum that they are .. they aretrying to politicize a NATURAL DISASTER .... Joe (GB), this is why folks will never elect you to public office and have boycotted your business. We are sick of your politics of personal destruction. |

Even HACK says there is something afoot. The canal is mismanaged and unorganized. A week's notice is enough time to drop the water, and make preparations. Sadly, nothing was done,
Democraps went a bridge too far this time in their attempt to destroy upstate through gross incompetence, and people are tired of being polite about it because you thuggish Nazis threaten people with destruction. Your threats are hardly paying off in real terms, you have no power and are impotent in more ways than one. |

How many hours have you volunteered down at the disaster site Daisy Jane? Had you performed the job of the Town Historian like you were supposed to do, years and years of town history would not have been destroyed. |

The entire canal system has had the luxury of dealing with nothing more than ice jams. Remember stratton's famous statement.....'the boats go in and the water goes down'..............well that's about all they had to know or wanted to know. In either case they were clearly unprepared for the forecasted inevitable. Were we/they prepared for this? NOPE! Should we/they have been? YUP!

I'm sure an investigation is forthcoming, maybe even a demotion if any fault is found with the actions (or inactions) on the part of Stratton. Hopefully the millions of dollars in damage wasn't the fault of anyone but Mother Nature. |
