Earlier today I tried to get on here and was met with a long chain of obscenities........ REAL NICE ADMIN!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, there was a break in the code. It happened a little after 4pm today. We needed the program's originator to repair the break in the code in the Perl script. It was repaired just a few minutes ago. No one was banned.

It looked to me like there was a hacking.

Well, if both of you (or the one of you, whichever it is) just think about it a little bit, if they wouldn't allow you to post due to your "dissenting opinions," how in the world do you think you would have got back on to post these most inspirational / inquisitive / insightful posts?  Use the gray matter between your ears for something besides padding to cushion your skulls every once in a while.

It also happened to me earlier so maybe I dissented from the party line too much, too.

I was met with the same thing. Obviously no one was banned. More cryig "wolf" from a guy who shoots first and then forgets to ask questions ever.

I have to laugh at the timing on this. I had just written a reply to a post and hit send only to come up with the text that many saw which included some choice words.  All I could think of was the website had been hacked.  Not uncommon to happen to websites these days.

A while later I explained to a computer guru friend what happened and sent him a copy of the text.  His first words were "oh that isn't a hack that is just a coding error".  Something occurred in the programing language of the software. In this particular case the data it latched onto was the list of banned words. How funny is that?

I was relieved to hear this although he did mention that depending on the cause it could mean the admin has to go to the backup copy of the forums which might not contain the latest posts.

I find it interesting how the thought of censorship came up when for the time I have read these forums I don't recall that happening very often.  I do recall once the admin asking us all to refrain from referring to a particular political party with a term that could be very offending but gosh I can't think of any others but then again I just started hanging around here in the last year or two.

I have read some really gross suggestions of a sexual nature here on a few occasions and I didn't see the admin delete them. They sort of leave it up to us on the tenor of the boards.  The rest of us reading the offending post just laugh at the poster.

It is totally hilariousness, a real fun and amusing thing to read how a topic always goes back to referring about one particular person DVR  What a hoot.  Talk about the power he holds.  He holds total control if you think about it.  Everyone is always paying attention to him.  I split a seam at this one all the time.  He is the best troll I have ever witnessed in all my years on the internet.  Being that he generates discussion it really does get things hopping. That can be informative but usually with his posts and the replies he gets it is entertaining.  All forums need a good troll. Without one they would be so damn boring no one would go to them.  Hey, see he just got me... I am feeding him too dag nab it.

Looks like a couple of people are a little paranoid.  For a little meaningless website, these two were screaming when they couldn't log on.  Too funny.

I'll throw that a "like," even including the posts of my own, and some of the people I almost always agree with, much less those with opposing opinions.

the site was hacked --- the admin tries to allow for all voices to be heard --- provided you stay within "acceptable" bounds. anyways... I think the site admin does a good job keeping things flowing here.
