Eunice resigned her position this past week.  Her record of service is now in the archives of history.

What names have surfaced as her replacement?  Who will campaign for Town Clerk?

Who will serve town residents well?

Thanks for the chuckle.  They will not be replacing her with someone who can do the job well just someone who is a friend.

Thanks for the joke. That's the lowest consideration. Political insiders say Senoir Center "leader" DM vs. Johnny Fontaine aka JD. No one has mentioned DVR.

Dvor already tried to worm his way into the clerks
office and he was flushed like last nights meatloaf.

I have been approached by a number of people and asked to consider running.  I am taking some time to think about it.

“And yet our opponents tell us not to interfere with abortion. They tell us not to impose our morality on those who wish to allow or participate in the taking of the life of infants before birth. Yet no one calls it imposing morality to prohibit the taking of life after a child is born. We’re told about a woman’s right to control her own body. But doesn’t the unborn child have a higher right, and that is to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?” – Ronald Reagan

Diane Marco will be the right Rotterdam Town Clerk she has integrity, honesty, work ethics, and does a good
job.
JD has alot of baggage and the residents don't forget the poor senior citizen that JD thought he could keep her money but her relatives won in court. JD got her house and all the $$ and bought all the land on
Ronnie Ct. All the old baggage will be brought up again!! Is that what JD wants to air it all out again!!!
Try keeping the RealEstate and your $40k pension with the Town and leave the Sr. Citizens alone.

I don't think anyone wants to go down the road of 'baggage'. Really!! There are still some rotterdamains that may question dm's personal 'commitment and loyalty' attributes or lack there of. Which would be as unfair as questioning jd's attributes. It makes no sense to bring that crap up.

The town clerk position is just a high paid, personality contest 'clerk' position. It carries no weight since it is not a law making, legislature passing position. Simply put...the position has not voting power whatsoever!! So who really gives a hoot?

Rotterdamians should just hope that the next town clerk will show up for work and know how to notarize legally!

I respect DM's involvement and dedication in Town government.  But,,,IMO, she is far too partisan to hold the position of Town Clerk.  Rotterdam needs to look to a political neophyte that doesn't have a long history of party politics.  Somebody there just to do the job, not play politics with the position.  Town Hall needs to be purged of Rotterdam's past.  Rotterdam can't take another year of petty bullshit political fighting at Town Hall.

Can we please return the clerk's term to two years as it used to be so the residents don't get burned again!  Let's face it, if you legally only need to show up one day a year for your pay, let's also make the salary a sum equivalent to the hours worked.  This last escapade was just plain crazy . . . .

Don't wait too long considering this. DM is already making her signs. She also has alot of experience with senoirs. Especially running the Center center in her spare time. Will she keep her City job too? Thanks for this thread Billy-we all needed big laugh!

I don't think dm will run for anything again. She has been quoted by many rotterdamains stating that she would never run for anything else again. Good move on her part.
