hello to all, my name is fred.last night as i was coming from mcdonalds on curry road, i seen a lot of cops around upper broadway, it was regarding a car accident it looked pretty bad.i stopped and talked w/ the young man involved, he seemed pretty shaking up about it. his wife and young child was with him.he is the one that told me about this site, so here is my first post.
on the night of july 16th 2011, myself,my wife and child were driving on broadway towards 5 corners,when a young woman hit our vehicle from behind.she then took off in a light tan or silver toyota, going towards 5 corners.there is extensive damage to both vehicles, especially the hit and run drivers car.we think her entire windshield is damaged, as well as extensive damage to the front part of her vehicle (light tan or silver toyota w/missing front headlight covers.my name is robert , and i would appreciate if you could run this story,my 7 year old child was in the car and now he is traumatic because of this event.i can be reached at 518-491-8451 thank you!
this incident happened in the town of rotterdam,in schenectady county
I'm assuming there was a police report......yes? I would also suggest contacting auto body shops in the area to see if any vehicles that fits the description has been brought in.
Sorry to hear your story. We'll keep a look out. Although if they drive this car around before it is fixed, it won't be hard to miss with all of the damage.

fred is my name, robert is the one who asked me to post this for him on this site from my iphone. we thank you for advice,we figure all body shops are closed on sundays, but he will resume bodyshop search monday.police report has been filed as well,as contacting stores in curry road area and asking them to review surveillance tapes.
You might want to check into autoglass places and junk yards just in case she has someone fixing up the car for her in private. Autoparts stores also keep records on what type of car purchases are being made for. They are also good to check up on. But dont just check in this area. Check outer areas as well.
If it were my car, I would be calling every parts dealer in the phone book.
thank you for the comments guys ang girls.we found out the make of the car is 1998-2002 toyota corrola,light tan,or beige,or silver in color.it has extensive damage to the front end of the car(toyota corrola).if any one on the board sees this car, could you plz contact officer randall at the rotterdam police dept.thank you again for your support.gemini, i have followed your advice and we are contacting autobody repair shops, as well as glass repair shops.thank you

if anyone lives in the bellvue area keep your eyes open for a toyota or honda that fits the description above,it has extensive damage to the front of the car. look ,we are living in a recession, and i doubt very much that this hit and run driver has the money to fix up her car!

Well, I'm glad that you are starting to make some progress to figure out who did this, but are you saying that with this much information, the RPD and DMV can't run a partial plate with the type of vehicle that was involved and figure out who this is yet? I know more information always helps, but I would think with having this amount of information, it would have them hot on someone's trail rather quickly. Also, is this a NY state plate, or was it an out of state plate? And now that NY has 2 different types of plates, was it the new or the old plate style?
it was the old style plate. and yes its a trip that officer randall of thr rpd, wont do more to assist .hopefully things will turn around,my phone is ringing off the hook with people offering info,so we appreciate that.description below:

My hubby's truck was hit by a driver who took off right infront of my house. I drove around for hours and I found the car on Craig St. The way I knew was it left some car parts here and large paint chips.
