Since it became apparent that McGarry and company would be the GOP ticket, some VERY prominent republicans have left the party...

1. Joe Signore former town board member, deputy supervisor, and supervisor
2. Lynn Fiorillo longtime committee-member, past secretary to the supervisor, and past candidate for town clerk
3. Frank Salomone longtime member of the committee, past candidate for town board, and past vice-chair of the party
4. Gerard Parisi past town board member, long time member of the committee, former treasurer of the committee, former chairman of the committee

This seems pretty substantial, especially when you also factor in that though not resigning from the committee or leaving the party the following individuals have resigned their positions on the executive board
1. Stan Marchinkowski, vice chair
2. James Marchinkowski, secretary

That's very interesting Prof... I also heard that Buchanan was talking about resigning from the Town Committee and putting himself in the City because he doesn't want to be associated with Rotterdam's boneheaded decisions anymore... Talk about a slap in the face!!!

EXACTLY!!
What I found most amusing is calling them 'prominent'!!! Except for JS, who wasn't so great, none of them were ever 'elected' in rotterdam.....no?

Devistating!!!

I don't know how a town political party can recover.

How is Frank Salamone a "long time" member of the committee and why is he so important, other than to work to undermine the committee from the inside?

That is comical.

I believe that if someone holds their values so dearly as to switch sides and join the opposing viewpoint of liberalism, ala' Lady Gagastino, Shereef Langostino, Holly Velveeta, Angelo Satanbarbera, Nikki Di'Leava, and now Joe Ignore, why would you really need them on your team other than that they are "good guys" and "nice ladies?" Some of them are pretty, and some handsome, and some look like little oil sheiks of Arab descent, and some of them have lots of gumbas from the Little Italy club, but really- do they stand for anything strongly enough that you need them on your side in a fight of ideals? I think it is a good thing that they leave if they are not true conservative republicans who would rather self-advance than win for their beliefs. If they want to carry the water for Obama and radical left, let them enjoy the stench of the far left because THEY are what makes the far left tick. Those with NO  beliefs of their own are the able tools of the far left and they must now wear its criminal and anti-American moniker - the democrap mark.

Uhhh Joe....aside from signore none of them went dem I heard they are done because of the nonsense...Besides word on the street is that YOU tried to go dem and the dems wouldn't take you...jealous? Real nice for you to try to call candidates arabs...who exactly is the arab? And even if they are who cares? Are you really that bigoted that arabs shouldn't be allowed to participate in public discourse? It's a good thing you are no longer an elected official your views are absolutely disgraceful.

What's a conservative republican? Someone who runs for supervisor in order to sabotage the endorsed republican and then is seen at the dem candidate's victory party? Yeah that is definitely the definition of "conservative republican"!!!

PK-is post 6 above your entry for "Dumbest post of the year," or are you going for "Biggest, most foolish and unbelievable lie of the decade?" Law school used to be harder to get into.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahah

This is very entertaining!

So I hear Buchanan and Surhada met with Mertz this morning, what's that all about?  It would seem to me a Buchanan/Surhada/Mertz alliance would be a big blow to GP and ST, would love to see that!

They were probably basking in the after-glow of their 3 way date last night.

“And yet our opponents tell us not to interfere with abortion. They tell us not to impose our morality on those who wish to allow or participate in the taking of the life of infants before birth. Yet no one calls it imposing morality to prohibit the taking of life after a child is born. We’re told about a woman’s right to control her own body. But doesn’t the unborn child have a higher right, and that is to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?” – Ronald Reagan
