Eric Fehrnstrom: Auto Bailout Was Mitt Romney's Idea
The Huffington Post  |  By Chris Gentilviso
Posted: 04/28/2012 6:05 pm Updated: 04/28/2012 8:53 pm

Top Mitt Romney adviser Eric Fehrnstrom claimed that President Obama's auto bailout was the GOP presidential hopeful's idea.

Fehrnstrom said Obama followed Romney's course to help the auto industry during an appearance at a Saturday roundtable discussion hosted by the The Washington Post.

“His position on the bailout was exactly what President Obama followed,” Fehrnstrom said. "He said, 'If you want to save the auto industry, just don't write them a check. That will seal their doom. What they need to do is go through a managed bankruptcy process.'"

"The only economic success that President Obama has had is because he followed Mitt Romney's advice," Fehrnstrom added........................>>>>....................>>>>..................http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/28/eric-fehrnstrom-auto-bailout-mitt-romney_n_1461805.html

"He cannot beat Obama. It's not going to happen."

-- Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN), in an interview with ABC News, on Mitt Romney's prospects in the presidential
race after she dropped out. Bachmann has now endorsed Romney.

NJ VP?

There’s a consensus among Trenton insiders: Governor Chris Christie would gladly accept the vice-presidential
nomination, should Mitt Romney offer it.

“Christie is open to it, his family’s comfortable with it, and he’s been vetted before,” one top state lawmaker
says. “He isn’t going to campaign for it, but it’s no secret that he would relish the opportunity to play at that
level.”

To me, this makes no sense. He didn't want to run for the nomination, why would he take the VP nom?
If things stay as they are, Romney's chances are 50/50 at best.  If Romney wins, Christie gets to twiddle his thumbs for at least 4 years, if Romney loses, he'll get attached to that loss and probably sink any chance he has at a future run.

Romney and the establishment GOP are at a crossroad...They know without Paul and his supporters they are guaranteed to lose.  So their either select a Paul approved VP or they choose an unrecognizable nobody and regroup for 2016.  If they put Rubio or Christie out there with Romney, they will take so many arrows; it will ruin any chances of either of them winning in 2016.

Or they don't... Either way, they lose.

Mitt Romney: 'I'll Take A Lot Of Credit' For Auto Industry Recovery
The Huffington Post  |  By Mollie Reilly
Posted: 05/08/2012 12:19 am Updated: 05/08/2012 12:44 am

Despite his 2008 call to "let Detroit go bankrupt," presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney said Monday that he would "take a lot of credit" for his impact on the U.S. automobile industry's comeback.

During an interview with WEWS-TV in Cleveland following a campaign stop, Romney said his views helped save the industry.

"I pushed the idea of a managed bankruptcy," Romney said. "And finally, when that was done, and help was given, the companies got back on their feet. So I'll take a lot of credit for the fact that this industry's come back."........................>>>>.................>>>>......................http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/08/mitt-romney-auto-industry_n_1498520.html

Strange...
Romney takes credit for the auto bailout... which he opposed,
but takes no credit for ObamaCare which he originated in Massachusetts.

Romney created ObamaCare in Massachusetts, then abandoned the best accomplishment of his tenure as
MA governor to appease the Far Right.
Romney opposed saving the Auto Workers jobs (over 1 million US jobs) which is one of Obama's best
accomplishments.

If you don't see a difference between the two, then you're not looking... or your blinded by The Ron
Paul Groupie disease.

Box, you are incapable of deciphering between political rhetoric and reality.  Romney may be slightly different rhetorically than Obama, but they are virtually the same.  They both want to use the coercive power of government to benefit their selected constituency.  Both want controlled markets and redistribute wealth.

Paul "goupies" want liberty and free markets, something Romney or Obama don't believe in.  They believe in central economic planning and controlled outcomes.

Cicero...
Your post shows just where your loyalties lie... not with the American People, but instead with the 1%.

You post about REALITY!
The REALITY is that Barack Obama's Auto Bailout kept 1 million American Jobs in America.
~ BOTH THE REPUBLICANS who are running for president would have eliminated those jobs.
~Thanks to President Barack Hussein Obama, the REALITY is 1 million Americans have a job.

Eight US presidents, both Republican and Democrat,  have proposed Health Care for all Americans.
~ BOTH THE REPUBLICANS who are running for president are against health care for Americans.
~Thanks to President Barack Hussein Obama, Health Care for all Americans will be a REALITY.

THE REALITY is that both Republicans running in this election are against the 99% of working Americans
and for the 1% who will benefit by their policy...
~ BOTH THE REPUBLICANS want to reduce or eliminate Social Security.
~ BOTH THE REPUBLICANS oppose the freedom of Choice.
~ BOTH THE REPUBLICANS want smaller government at the expense of the Poor and Middle Class.
~ BOTH THE REPUBLICANS would cut social programs for working Americans while they promote benefits
for Corporate America.
~ BOTH THE REPUBLICANS...
~ BOTH THE REPUBLICANS...
~ BOTH THE REPUBLICANS...

~ The REALITY IS...
BOTH THE REPUBLICANS differ on only one point:
...US troops involvement in foreign wars.

Well, do to your economic retardation, you fail to understand that jobs wouldn't have been eliminated; they would have been shifted to another auto manufacturer that was NOT bankrupt.  The bailout didn't create a higher demand for cars.  If GM and Chrysler filed bankruptcy, they would have restructured the labor contracts so they could compete.  Even if GM closed down, the other manufacturers like Ford, Toyota, and others would have to hire workers to manufacture the cars to meet the natural demand that would be created from GM and Chrysler no longer manufacturing.

GM and Chrysler going bankrupt doesn't mean the cars they produce will no longer be produced, just that they will be produced by another factory.

Economics is a tough topic for you box...

Cicero's only comment about my post showing the Romney/Paul Twins in lock step, is about auto restructuring...
Not a peep about the TWO REPUBLICANS  who, with one exception, are interchangeable.
