What party flipper? The CONS Party started in the 1960's not the 1920's. If there was a CONS party back before the day the senior Hamilton would have surely gotten that endorsement too. Great local political relic.

I think the point, beside local history, is the political instincts in the bloodline. I have met the Chief's father, who also bears a
striking resemblance to that photo but it isn't him...probably a grandfather...which would pre-date the formation of the Conservative
Party....looks like Republican blood though...and that family tradition was broken when the current generation started supporting
Demokratz.

Unfortunately the entire picture has yet to emerge...endorsements are either not finalized or haven't even been announced...there
were a number of true conservatives seeking endorsements and cross endorsements...but again, we don't even know who all of the
choices are...so we don't know how many will be conservatives.

The Rotterdam Republican Committee is supposedly endorsing their candidates tonight...talk about waiting until the last second.

As usual, the CP endorsements are the best kept secret in the County...even Committee people have no idea for sure because
Committee Members do not get to vote on endorsements...the Executive Board alone endorses candidates throughout the
County...but I suspect that as usual, all or most of their endorsed candidates will be Demokratz....and virtually all Demokratz
nominated by the Schenectady County CP Executive Board are liberals.

Another  cuckoo comment from Cuckoo  Kelly  ---  I mean really ... people are not required or expected to belong to the same political party as their parents and grandparents.    My ancestors have a long history of leadership in BOTH the Democratic and the Republican parties (and the Whig party and the Federalist Party -- and that is just on THIS side of the Atlantic Ocean).

The Hamiltons are a fine family and don't deserve to be continuously slandered by the "dirty diaper gang"/nattering nayboobs of negativity.

“And yet our opponents tell us not to interfere with abortion. They tell us not to impose our morality on those who wish to allow or participate in the taking of the life of infants before birth. Yet no one calls it imposing morality to prohibit the taking of life after a child is born. We’re told about a woman’s right to control her own body. But doesn’t the unborn child have a higher right, and that is to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?” – Ronald Reagan

Ron,

In Europe, were your ancestors Bolsheviks and Jacobites? It would figure.

Now get those 6 balls off of your chin, it is very unflattering.

I supported the Democratic ticket -- not any one candidate individually.   Personally, the only candidate that I specifically and personally supported from Day #1 in 2009 was Matt Martin.   I was a part of the selection committee that interviewed him and was greatly impressed by him then .. and of that entire 2009 ticket.. he is the only one that I continue to be impressed with and would ever vote for again.
Mr. Del Gallo's name was put forth by another member of the town committee - at the last moment (we already had a candidate for Town Supervisor).      The former town chairman and the current town vice chair talked Mr. Del Gallo into running and - basically - forced him on the ticket.   I notice that the former town chairman got his "pay back" -- a seat on the Ethics Commission.

For the record - I wholeheartedly support the ENTIRE endorsed Democratic slate this year -- each and every candidate is exceptionally well qualified for the posts that they are running for.

For the record,  my some of my ancestors were Jacobites (supporters of the Stuart monarchs) and some were on the opposing side.  My ancestors connection with the British Crown dates back to 1066 when a distant ancestor crossed the channel with William the Conqueror.   A couple of distant relatives hold titles in the United Kingdom There really is nothing wrong with being a Jacobite.

There are no Bolsheviks in my family tree.   My ancestors (all sides) came over to America before the Communist movement started in Europe -- basically .. the ancestors all came over before 1880.    The only distant relatives that we know who are still alive in Europe are those in the United Kingdom -- they are split between the Labor party and the Conservative party.   The one branch of our family tree that comes from South Korea is vehemently  anti-communist .. as is the Polish side of the family tree.
