This will take a while to digest and compare year to year. But their legal/accounting fees went from approximately $1300 to approximately $15K!

And they are a corporation?..........ROTTERDAM EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES, INC.
huh...who knew???

And they filed their 2005 tax return on feb of 2009?
Their 2007 in feb of 2009?

This is probably just a common practice.

Has anybody noticed that revenue was up $445,000 between 2008 and 2009?  Revenue went from $372K to $817K IN ONE YEAR!!!  That's 120% increase in revenue in one year!!! And that was in the midst of the worst recession since the great depression.   What have they done different?  Why did they need a tax district if the REMS revenue more than doubled in the year prior to the referendum?

WHERE DID THE ALS MONEY GO!?  WHERE IS THE EXTRA $445K?

I think the $120K was snuck in right after Steve T lost the election in 09.

Has anybody noticed that the salaries went up $119K between 2008 and 2009?  It went from $268 to $387 IN ONE YEAR!!!  WOW That is a 44% increase in salaries in one year.  Boy did they really grow between 2008 and 2009.  Revenue more than doubled and salaries were up by half.  Why did they need a taxing district again?  Did our elected TB members read these 990's before making the residents stand in line on December 14th to vote on a taxing district for a company whose revenue was up over 100% in one year.  I don't know about anybody else, but if I see revenue up, I ask why do we need a tax district?  And why was the expense of salaries up $119K?  Did they add ambulances between 08-09?

They "needed" a tax district because that income is ALS revenue they were not supposed to collect and RETAIN...the tax push became
urgent as soon as it was announced that FDG would be substituted for a candidate that would never have beaten ST...and when
Stevie Pooh was on his way out...he knew they would lose income they never reported and never should have had...so he gave them
120G...thanks so much Steve, you dope!

That was not a regular line item...the bailouts were varied amounts, granted sporadically...the 120K in last year's budget
was to replace ALS income ST knew they would lose when he left at the end of that year...so he covered them in 2010 before
he left.

So the extra $445K in revenue was mostly ALS money?

I believe they also collect $$$ from Princetown. I don't know when that started or how much it was. Like I said, a lot to digest, compare.

But perhaps the increase in revenue is from an increase in population???????

Perhaps the increase in revenue is from calls rems is now taking.... since they were awol for years and years prior and Mohawk was answering all of their calls!

It also appeared that Stairs was in charge of the books in 05, 06, 07...... J Vanderwerker in 08, 09.

Yup...noticed that too!! I suspect this was to cover MORE THAN SIXTY EMPLOYEES RUNNING TWO AMBULANCES...a payroll that
immediately and rapidly started to swell as soon as they lost their volunteer status and went to a paid squad. Nice, huh???

The increase in revenue can be attributed largely if not entirely to the ALS collections....but they knew it was never theirs to keep
and the election would put them at risk of losing this sweet deal...they couldn't guarantee that the next administration would be
so willing to illegally give them money that does not belong to them.

This is key BT because I heard that Jim Stairs, one of the laziest, most overpaid Town employees ever, was literally pocketing
ALS money...and he was very familiar with paramedic/ALS business....he was the paramedic Supervisor for years.

Joe V probably put the cash into REMS...but who knows...they never accounted for any of it.

Either way...the ALS money was always improperly retained....regardless of where it went.
