This is a long video but worth watching. Many lawyers advise people NOT to talk to police, show your license if asked for it but thats it.

Many law abiding citizens have been wrongfully accused of made up crimes and have had to get  a lawyer and have spent thousands of dollars, some having cases dismissed, some sent to jail.

Do you honestly think that a person would get tased 4 times because he wouldn't speak to the police?
Yes, lawyers will tell you NOT TO VOLUNTEER ANY INFORMATION, and that is good advise.  I don't believe that is the case here!!!
I have been tased during training and have tased some pretty big people during same exercises....4 times????  My friend is 280, 6'4" and one shot took him to his knees and that was all.....so 4 times.....what was really going on here?

Wonder what happens to an unruly pubescent 13 year old on a rampage at the roller-skating rink.

I'll tell you what, I'm sure nobody at school will mess with him.  His reputation as a tough guy has just been solidified in school lore.  Grown a** men, trained how to restrain people couldn't handle him.

We may never know the details that substantiate or question the use of the taser.  Was this a 18 yr old body on a 13 yr old....was he really going bonkers and uncontrollable....was he a threat to others around him.....was he running around wildly that no one could corner him and take him down....lotsa questions we may never have ansers for.  Until I know those details, I have to believe the RPD did what he felt was the right thing.  Of course the next thing wil lbe a lawsuit for excessive force by RPD....you can see that one coming, right!

I didn't say either way, only the people involved know what really happened.

I agree that this is pure speculation.  But I am trying to think back to when I was 13(that's 8th grade), and I have trouble remembering even the most over developed 13 year old as being so tough they were worthy of a taser.  I'm not a tough guy by any means, but I can't remember there being a 13 year old I went to school with that I wouldn't have stood toe to toe with.  Not saying I wouldn't have gotten my a$$ kicked by some, but nobody taser worthy.  That's why I have trouble imagining a situation where a grown adult, with a pistol, night stick, pepper spray, and handcuffs would have to resort to the taser.  I would imagine with all the other options, a taser would have been the last resort.

I have 13,14,15 year old neighbors and family. I have to agree that in appearance, they do not appear to be tazer worthy.

Do to lack of details, we have no choice but to believe that the rpd felt either personally threatened or that the assailant was a physical threat to others. If this isn't the case.....I'd have to agree with joeboxer...............lawsuits may be pending for excessive force.

the increasing use of force by police is because of a change in generational upbringing/civil uprising etc......when folks were able to actually take in
information and reasonably assimilate it and be a reasonably educated person who did not act like an animal unless threatened to that extent, before
the government became the 'caretaker' of such skills and insidiously usurped that ability of the plebs to master in life all for the goal of control...
they have made their 'beast'

I wonder how much paxil is in the water supply?????? I wonder if they realize the drug interactions?????

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

I agree with that 1000000000000%  I just want the police who respond to be very careful before they use that weapon. Some of the youtube videos that I have seen (patrol cameras and cameras in public places) have caught the police using that thing on elderly people who were simply arguing with them and not posing a threat or fighting. Of course one should not argue with police but we all know that sometimes cooler heads need to defuse, and there are SKILLS that police need to use. If that part of what they learned is forgotten then I ask myself how would an UNARMED C.O. do their job. But they do it without weapons and they have to be pretty smart, and pretty good with dealing with the cons. You may know that!

Use Tasers only as a last resort

It’s hard to believe that a pair of Rotterdam police officers couldn’t figure out how to subdue an out-of-control 13-year-old on his way out of the Rollerama skating rink last Friday night without zapping him with an electronic stun gun — unless the kid was as big as Andre the Giant or was carrying a lethal weapon.
Tasers fire steel barbs charged with enough electricity to disable virtually any human target. That clearly was the aim of the cops who were attempting to control a feisty youth who had exited the roller rink at closing time and immediately attacked another young patron he’d squabbled with inside. The cops, who’d been called by the owner in anticipation of trouble, pulled the unidentified youth away, but when he refused to heed repeated warnings to settle down and kept swinging, one of officers administered a jolt and easily subdued him. ........................>>>>.........................>>>>...............http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01101&AppName=1

See Joe
here is the rub I was not arrested for anything.
Yes I was tazed 4 times and two young buck police men could not get a 56 year old man handcuffed.
A decent lawabiding citizen ask a couple of questions and the young officers reacted
they do not like questions.
they did not arrest me for nearly two hours later when they dragged me to the HQ.
they had to figure out what to arrest me for...
they came up with a laundry list, so that is why the need for a lawyer..
the guys (The uniformed guys not the other inmates)  at the jail even laffed at rotterdam pd calling it newjack city
heheh
yes cops can do what they want and dumb a** who asked questions will suffer for sure.
so yeah Joe I am a blamelsee but not a victum
so go on with you childish red star thing, my goodnes are you a cop too?"
so you worked with tazers in your training and you seen a big dude go down with one shot?
Im not one to worship on my knees, especialy to  barbarians
try that sh*t on a working man sonny!
and like I said the only thing them thugs got on me is a badge and a uniform they got zero intergrety
its all fine wit me Joe I will be out of this one horse town soon enough
as soon as I get my money back that your government stole from me by the hands of your pals the uniformed thugs,
peace out joe a red minus sign come on man you crak me up
LM AO!!!!

and just so ya know Joe,
I aint plannin no lawsuit
why would I want to make the townspeople suffer  and add to their already burdensome debt load?
because of the stupid acts of a couple of idiots with badges?
I would not want one stinkin red cent from the police or the government they serve.
and remember joe police serve their masters the government... not the people.
the same masters will eat you too one day when they are done with you.
