ROAD CLOSURE
SCHENECTADY — Schenectady County has announced the following road closure.
Dunnsville Road (County Route 81) will be closed between the newly constructed Golub Corporation truck entrance and NYS Route 7 (Duanesburg Road) starting at around 2 p.m. April 8; concurrently the new section of Dunnsville Road connecting north to NYS Route 7 will be opened to traffic.
Schenectady County by agreement with the Golub Corporation is abandoning a part of the original Dunnsville Road and relocating public travel to this new section of highway.

So, they are going to close the current end of Dunnsville Road?  That gets rid of one entrance / exit for the Cumby's.  I wonder if they were informed previously that this would be the case.  It's going to make getting in and out of there more difficult.  I thought the plan was to keep both open.  Isn't there a stop sign on Dunnsville leading up to the new intersection with a stop sign pointed back at Cumby's?  I guess that was wasted money, if that road will be closed.

That "stub" section of road will remain.  It was part of a negotiated agreement between Cumberland Farms and Golub during initial project review.  The reasons were as you stated prior.

I guess it just doesn't make sense to me to close any of that area.  The reason I would say is that the entrance on what is now Dunnsville Road was for any traffic coming from Dunnsville Road.  Now, that same traffic will still be forced out to Route 7, where they'll be coming in the other entrance anyway.  Maybe it's just me, but the idea of keeping the portion that goes by Cumberland Farms open makes no sense if you close off the access directly to/from that piece to the rest of Dunnsville Road.
