I heard that the March 1 deadline came and went and that the democrats don't have as many candidates as they expected...apparently even buffardi didnt send in a letter of interest. Guess that means he cant run? I did hear that salamone submitted a letter to tony jasenski to run for supervisor. anyone hear any other details?

HB doesn't need to send no letter. He could sit on his porch and win. This is all a crock. The DEMS reached out to him because they must dump FDG. FS has a big job out of State. He's not running for anything. The REPS have done a good job of rope a dope.

From Marv Cermak's column in the Times Union today...

Quoted Text
Candidates needed

A week ago here there was mention about Harry Buffardi, retired Schenectady County sheriff, considering running for Rotterdam town supervisor this fall.

The Democrat surprised most by indicating he may return to the political arena after leaving elected office about two years ago.

Buffardi’s potential candidacy must have really stunned Tom Buchanan, Schenectady County Republican chairman, who came out with an inane response to the news.

According to Buchanan, Democrats are “desperate’’ if they are considering supporting Buffardi. The Dems have decided not to endorse incumbent Democrat supervisor Frank DelGallo for re-election.

If anyone in area politics is desperate, when it comes to candidates, it would have to be Buchanan.

In the last two Schenectady City Council elections combined there were seven seats up for grabs. The Buchanan-led GOP came up with only one candidate.

Democrats ran unopposed for the other six seats.

Buchanan & Co. also had no candidates to oppose Democrats for two County Legislature seats contested in the last election.

If anything should be labeled desperate it’s the plight of Buchanan when it comes to finding candidates.

Both parties are desperate.

If Ron switched to run maybe its true that salamone sent the letter? Buffardi didnt seem that keen on running in the newspaper maybe they are in need of a strong candidate and if salamone did send a letter of interest itd be interesting to see how it plays out. I plan on spending some time at the senior center this afternoon and ill let you all know if i hear anything over there about it

I was talking to someone today while at the senior center they told me Salamone had told them a week and a half ago that he was going to send Jasenski a letter asking to be considered for Supervisor as a democrat. this person also said he saw salamone talking with jasenski and severson (back when severson was a democrat) outside of tops a a month or 2 ago... They also said salamone had a long meeting with jasenski at tops... after he was seen with jasenski and severson....

They didn't know what the conversations were about or whether salamone was joking about writing the letter...

If I uncover anything else ill be sure to post...

Diner this morning...TJ had a stack of papers with him...they were obviously surprised to see me...I just smiled, waved and left....didn't want to
look at that too long - lol.

And yet the Town Democrats control the Town Board and our party organization is in much better shape than the  Town GOP ...  so if you think that we are stupid ... you are saying that the GOP must be much more stupid.

“And yet our opponents tell us not to interfere with abortion. They tell us not to impose our morality on those who wish to allow or participate in the taking of the life of infants before birth. Yet no one calls it imposing morality to prohibit the taking of life after a child is born. We’re told about a woman’s right to control her own body. But doesn’t the unborn child have a higher right, and that is to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?” – Ronald Reagan
