He was the Town Republican Chair for the last election and Town Attorney for the entire Tommasone Administration.  You remember "Save the EMS" signs?  Are you telling me he had no knowledge of the save the EMS signs?  Was Steve T running the campaign and purchasing Save the EMS signs without GP knowing?

I remember John Mertz clarifying in a Town meeting that those signs, which were also used in his campaign, were about saving
our paramedics...and everyone knew about the signs because they were posted next to the Republican candidates' signs all over
town while making it a centerpiece in their campaigns...which is probably why he felt the need to make that distinction...now that
he was against the tax district as a matter of politics. And if it was really about the paramedics, who were never endangered anyway,
I don't see how that equates to knowledge of the ALS collection. With all due respect, this is starting to sound like an obsession
with Parisi.

I wonder if Paolino - Signore knew of this arrangement also - if it pre-dates ST? Is that possible?

There is no way Paolino was aware of any such arrangement because he absolutely opposed public funding of ems in any
form...whether tax district, budget appropriations or otherwise. As Supervisor, Signore probably had no such arrangements
either...whether he knew as a Board Member under Tommasone can only be left to speculation...but we do know that
Chief Hamilton told us these collections had been in progress over the last 4-5 years...which REMS has confirmed...which was
exclusively during the Tommasone administration. At this point, however, the only parties we know for sure had knowledge of
the scheme is ST, who instructed REMS to bill, collect and retain...and REMS, who certainly knew they were collecting and keeping
those revenues...which, according to their attorney, was spent on "operations".

It doesn't sound like a 'gp obsession' at all. Cicero has some valid points here. Just like rotterdamians are relying on Lucardi to advise and keep things 'legal', they also expected that with all past town attorneys. GP just happened to be the attorney at that time. And the rotterdam rep chair.

I am a bit confused though. I don't remember driving through rotterdam seeing JM signs next to EMS signs......no?

Well, you claim ST and REMS knowingly entered into an illegal verbal contract, which would lead me to believe that the Town legal council at that time advised ST and REMS that it was illegal.  How else would they know it was illegal?  I have trouble separating something that appears to be illegal and believing the Town Attorney's hands aren't dirty.  Didn't GP work for REMS also?  While working with REMS, I wonder if ALS money "unknowingly" paid for GP's service fees. IMO

Oh come on here...............Rotterdamians find THAT very hard to believe! In the last election, JS, ST and JoeS ALL campaigned on save rems....under GP's watch. It really isn't that difficult to connect the dots in rotterdam.

It has always been and is now......family business as usual!

It is typical slimmy lawyer crap! The rotterdam taxpayers are sick and tired of it. The FACT is that FS just ran for rotterdam town board to represent the taxpayers of rotterdam and oversee how their money is spent....correct? I guess that concept just got flushed down the crapper, huh?

Didn't GP represent REMS before FS?

If that's the case.........well there ya  have it.

As far as hating lawyers until ya need one? People have no choice.........that's the way the system is set up!

the public school system dumbed down the population 1 and 1/2 generations ago....you know, remove latin because it's a dead
language....what a farce....the public doesn't even understand/comprehend basic rhetoric.....that was job security for the few
'educated'......remember the pharisees and the saducees?......

a dumbed down poplulace makes for violence...especially when they cannot express themselves civily and have to rely on someone
else to do it for them.....ie:Egypt

I am not denying this...all I am saying is that campaigning to save REMS with a tax doesn't prove full knowledge of the ALS
scheme...as obvious as some conclusions may seem...if that were true then JM knew about it too as he was on the same Board.
The only ones whose involvement has been confirmed in that arrangement is ST and REMS.

Cicero always makes valid points...but he/she seems to continue redirecting responsibility for the ALS scandal at GP....and again, we
only have confirmed involvement on the parts of ST and REMS...if the others knew we'll probably have to count on voluntary
admissions from them...and I don't see anyone rushing to do that under the circumstances. The Chief knew about it but can claim
no responsibility for knowing related billing and collection procedures, or ensuring they are followed.

On the signs, JM signs were displayed side by side with "Save Our EMS" signs all over town...which as I said, JM explained as support
for our paramedics that were never threatened, not the REMS inferred from them...it was offered years later, during his opposition to
the tax....and it was not a clarification he made while those signs were posted next to his election signs.

unfortunately, for them no matter how they wish they weren't involved.....you are who you hang with....especially in Rotterdam...and usually one has the
same mud on their face as everyone else.....but we need to keep the bullies away.....
