Why thank you GB! I may be the most Liberal on this board but even I will admit DVR is a far cry from what I see as democratic philosophy.

I am very much a Democrat and have been all my life. The fact that my political philosophy is more in line with John Kennedy, "Scoop" Jackson, and Sam Stratton does not make me any less of a Democrat than you or someone "more to the left".
BTW -- if you were are so much more of a Democrat than me .. join the committee and give us a hand. It is always easier to say you are more of a Democrat but backing it up with actual labor is another thing.

You pick and choose like it's the Swedish Smorgasbord at Mallozi's. I am an Albany County Dem who has been asked to run in town both by Reps and Dems. Not interested. The fact of the matter is that there are a lot of moderate and conservative Democrats. John Kennedy was certainly more conservative than his brothers, Robert and Edward, were. That is just a plain fact of history. Quitefrankly, I don't need you to tell me what is or is not the party's philosophy -- because I have been a life long member of the party and I know that I am in the company of a lot of other Democrats who share my same views. And if you don't like that -- too bad -- because we are not leaving the party. So you'll just have to get used to that.
The town Democratic committee is in very good hands and in very good shape. Much better than it has been in the past 5 or 6 years. And we will continue to become stronger and do what need to do to get folks elected and do what is good for our residents.
