And who paid for that?  Thought the parks commission didn't had $0 operating expenses?

The survey did not cost the Town of Rotterdam anything.   The operating costs of the Parks and Recreation Commission have been taken care of by the generosity of its members for the past 2 years -- and as long as I have  any say in the matter -- we will continue that model of public service.

Yet no one calls it imposing morality to prohibit the taking of life after a child is born. We’re told about a woman’s right to control her own body. But doesn’t the unborn child have a higher right, and that is to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?” – Ronald Reagan

Since this website is a meaningless waste of space ... there is no reason to seek public opinions on this website.

furthermore -- most of the posters on this website are the "multiple personalities" of a few misguided wing nuts

Rotterdam has how many parks? NINE? For how many residents? approx -30K??

Again.......the worst recession in history, unemployment at 9%, highest taxed county in the state, housing devaluating daily, taxes and fees and cost of living rising daily, hundreds of thousands of als $$$ missing..............and rotterdam is wasting time on parks!! OMG!!

And they wonder why they are the laughing stock!!!

take a look at the budget for the fulltime parks employees and the salaries.....are they cross trained for snow plowing?

Wasn't it just about a year ago that the state wasn't going to open state parks because there was no money? WTH?

The parks are maintained by people who work for the Public Works Department .. there is no separate Parks Department.

As for why the Parks and Recreation Commission is spending time discussing a park ----  think about it ---- I'll even give you a hint  ----- the reason is in the name of the commission.

The fact is that the town has owned the 78 acres for 16 years -- it acquired it for the purpose of creating a park there --- and the time has come to develop it into a park.    At the same time, the Parks & Recreation Commission is THOROUGHLY AWARE of the need to present a plan that is responsible to the taxpayers -- and I would think that since 100% of the costs of developing the 78 acre "bonded concrete site" will be paid for by PRIVATE FUNDS  and the value of that work can be leveraged to receive state grants and federal grants -- and even some more private grants ------ the tax payers will be happy to know that it will be possible to have a new, general use town park -- that will basically cost the town property tax payers NOTHING to develop.

The posts which claim that the town and/or the commission is being reckless or other such derogatory remarks .. are just a bunch of horse manure from the mouths of the Nattering Nayboobs of Negativity.
