I can tell you that the side roads in Schenectady are deplorable.  I was heading towards Albany on Albany Street, where there was an accident near the corner of Kings Road.  The detour essentially sent you back streets so you could cut back over to Albany Street.  At least that's the way that I went, as it was a more direct route to where I was going than driving all the way down Kings Road.  I was following behind 2 other cars and we were driving on roads that looked as though plows had not come down yet.  I wonder how emergency personnel would get to any of those houses when someone has an emergency.  Do they get a plow to drive in front of them then?

Side roads looked problematic to me in the morning ... both in the town and in the city.

AGain, DV doesn't know what he's talking about    Plows when through in our side streets 2 maybe even 3 times   (area between Altamont Ave Price chopper and Highbridge Rd, ie., that side of town)

At the time, I was on the roads -- from 10 AM until Noon -- the side streets looked problematic to me ... the snow was still coming down at the time so even if a plow had gone through earlier .. additional snow would still be piling up.

I can't comment on the condition of any other roads but Route 158 after noontime -- and that was definitely well plowed throughout the afternoon and evening.

For rotterdam it was the storm that wasn't

But crews did a great job

However it is taking a toll on business on curry rd with short driveways

Hopefully Mr longo will send crews out to remove some of the tall snow banks which make entring curry very dangerous from the side streets

I know this is above and beyond but it has been a long time since snow like this

All things considered  - my driveway is clean  - after the snowblower broke down and I had to fix it -- got the driveway done in time to go out and get a pizza for the family for dinner.     The roads are still very slipper -- but passable.  Use common sense - drive carefully or better yet stay home if you can.

Actually, Curry Road would be a county road, so you should be calling someone at the county level, not the town, but I did send him a note regarding your remarks on the situation.

This morning, I was driving down Curry road and a car decided it didnt want to wait for me to pass.  He took off out of his driveway, spun out, hit the snowbank across the road, came back around, hit his own snow bank and then decided that he had enough.  I, in turn, nearly slammed into him trying to stop.  He finally got the car going and took off like a bat out of he11.  He made it as far as the underpass near Hess and slid sideways a couple of times.  I had to follow him down Altamont Ave and he finally turned onto Crisler.  I cant believe how some people drive in this.  Did he seriously think he was going to get anywhere faster than anyone else if hes in a snow bank?

When you inherited all that money from Daddy, it is too bad he didn't give you any brains, common sense or ability to go with it. Imagine how much better you would feel if you were self made. What a douch. No one likes you. How is the smell in the junktion these days? Spend any time at the bad Pig with the crooked cop lately? Wow, what class/

You have to remember, even if people have lived in the Capital Region (or in snow country anywhere), nobody has ever driven in snow and doesn't know how it changes how you drive.  It's all of them, including some people who actually run driving schools.  I had someone the other day that had a bumper sticker on the back of their car for a driving school tailgate me the entire length of Curry Road from Morris (after tailgating me on Morris also) until we got to near the Hess, where he veered into the right lane and passed me.  Defensive driving school instructor?  Well, I won't be going to their school.

I thought Curry Road -- Route 7 was a state road.
