I tried Dunzy's once and its nothing special. In fact, it was MUCH better when it was operating under the previous owner years ago. The only reason Dunzys has plenty of parking is people squat at the old Draper Pharmacy lot across the street.

That is true ... the actual parking lot at Dunzy's can hold about 15 cars -- technically .. no one is supposed to park across the street or in front of the auto store.

I'm so sorry...forgot how you cannot stand to be corrected.  What's with the name calling?  Thought you were opposed to such antics, or is it just how you feel at the moment.  Is that the best you have?  I am crushed!  Okay, now you can go back to sitting in the corner and exploring the iside of your nasal passages.

Corrected about what?   There are restautants that use the word "grill" in their name.   You like to go around insulting me and bashing everything I write.   You must lead a really pathetic life -- you loser.

"loser"....now I am really hurt.  Go back and read the posts idiot.  I corrected the fact that the gin mill opening is not the RECOVERY ROOM, but rather the RECOVERY SPORTS GRILL because they are two distinctly different establishments.  But you have chosen as usual to just throw your usual spin on things instead of moving on. So spin that "dufus"!

There are enough nights in the month to support ALL of the eating establishments in the town. Dunzy's has good wings but poor parking.  Paesan's has pretty good wings and great parking.

I have only heard rumors about when the Recovery Room is opening.    I did notice a lot of delivery trucks unloading stuff there today.

Oh -- and the term "grill" in the name doesn't mean it is not a restaurant.   Top's is called an "American Grill" .. then there is Babe's "Macaroni Grill" ..... both of those and others use "grill" in the name and are very much restaurants.

Uh, there may be enough nights, but DV, see, you don't know because you don't pay taxes.     People cannot go out to eat.  It costs money to go out.  And after the people get done paying their own property and school taxes PLUS the property and school taxes of the millionaires, the taxpayers don't have money left to go out to eat.     Obviously people who don't have a job and live on the taxpayer dole can afford to go out.

Much ado about nothing. The wings are terrible, the nachos are lousy, the drinks are overpriced. It's a gin mill-you go there to tie one on during a game. Someone else posted its a step below Applebees on food and they are right.

Dunzy's has plenty of parking and the best wings in town. That's the place to be for a Super Bowl or NCAA tournament. Some people are so small town they think a chain gin mill equals some big deal. People will try it once get a headache and never go back.

I only ran a few times,  but watched a whole lot more.
I had 323's in the rear end, so I had pick and choose who to run.
Even with a 440 warmed over, I didn't stand a chance against anyone running running 373's or better.
Now, if there ever was a top end run... different story.

When you say SS 396, I'm assuming Chevelle, but it could be a Camaro. There were plenty of both.
There was a guy that had a blue '70 Monte Carlo that ran a lot.
I remember a few Shelby's come from time to time, GT350's and GT500's...if you watch the Mecum auctions on HD theater, those cars go for close to six figures... you could buy them for under 10K back then.

Doug Manley ran his GT 500s there with the SCJ engines. He told me there was a Chevy Monza that ran a very built SB chevy that the owners removed a little piece of every week to make it lighter- that was THE fastest street legal car in the county, bar none. THAT STUFF ALL CAME TO AN END IN THE VERY EARLY 80s!

Found this article from Times Union...anyone know anything about it?  Are they back?????

"Welcome back, NebaJanuary 7, 2009 at 12:01 pm by Cathy Woodruff
Neba, the roast beef sandwich that inspired legions of devoted Capital Region fans decades ago, is back on the menu and already delighting diners, Bill Pompa, owner of the Mr. Subb restaurants announced today.

Pompa says he re-introduced the Neba early in November after testing some new techniques for making the signature sandwich, which features a toasted sesame seed bun and roast beef au jus.

More than 22 years ago, Pompa’s business was known as Neba-Mike’s, and he had six locations in Troy and Watervliet. When he decided to expand farther into Albany County, he changed the name to Mr. Subb to avoid confusion with Mike’s-Neba, which already was operating in the county, according to a news release about the sandwich re-introduction.

Later, Pompa decided to discontinue the Nebas and concentrate on submarine sandwiches because of the name change and other operational considerations.

Now, he says, this Neba is a bigger, better and more consistently prepared sandwich."

They've been "back" for a while, available at most Mr Subbs.
IMHO, they aren't the same sandwich. They are good, but the beef feels and tastes more processed.
They don't compare to the old NEBA.

I remember the Mike's Neba and Sub place in Latham  - Route 9 and 155) - that was still open in the early 1980's when I was in college.

Their subs were the best around at the time and, at least in my memory, better than any subs available today.
