South Schenectady Fire Department ( SSFD ) covers the West side of Rotterdam.

The district is between Rotterdam Mall, Paul Ave near 4 corners, Plotterkill Preserve and Sunrise Acres on Dunnsville Road.

I am running for Commissioner of SSFD in an effort to turn around the department from a "social club" of members back into a greatly respected Fire Department as it was in years past. Currently I do not feel the goals of the members there is to protect the life and safety of the citizens of the district.  On the contrary, over 10 active dedicated fire fighters have been kicked out due to political differences with others ( including some of the current Commissioners ).  

In an age where Volunteers are extremely hard to come by, SSFD needs all the help it can get to protect the citizens of our District.  

I am asking you for your Vote to help me bring SSFD back to a Fire Department that is dedicated to protecting your family.  

Please note that I am a write in candidate, and anyone who votes for me would have to put at least my last name down on the ballot slip.

Can everyone in that district vote or just rotterdam property owners from that district?

Yes at the Taj.... lol... and only people inside that fire district Bumble... If you know anyone I would love to have their support.

Sorry, won't be able to vote for you, Artie, as 3 hours is such a small window of time and I won't be in town during those hours.  If you get in, then hopefully, you're turn around can begin.

The flyer says "6-9pm" ... only 3 hours?  Maybe it means 6am - 9pm (seems kinda long)?

Sorry if it was confusing... 6pm - 9pm.  

From what I can tell the NYS Town Law Code dictates that time.  

People who cant make it could probably do an absentee ballot??  Maybe...

Here is the latest and greatest version of my flyer...

Handed out at least 500 flyers today.... will be going door to door soon as I get more flyers printed up.  Also put 2 large signs at 5 corners facing    west on 7 and 159

Artie, I heard you on Al Roney's show on Talk 1300 supporting the creation of the tax district to
benefit REMS.  You made several statements that were misleading/inaccurate and seemingly intended
to scare the residents into voting in favor of the tax district.

Abe, what I said and mean in a nutshell is I personally feel Mohawk could do just a good of a job as Rotterdam

They provide the same level of coverage and staffing dedicated to the Town of Rotterdam as REMS has.

I am just not 100% sure that doing so is profitable.  Thats my over riding point.
