I predict there are quite a few town and city Dems who are so fed up with the County Dems that they are considering switching to the GOP with the help of Peter G and George A.  High level Dems that are tired of waiting in line while turncoat GOPers get the royal treatment, namely Co. Leg office holders.  The Party Dems are sick and tired of the use and abuse sentiments exhibited by the County Dems toward Rotterdam.  High rankers are fuming!!!!!!!!!

I find this hard to believe honestly. But if there are really dems that are disgruntled, they should stay in their party and try to bring it back to it's original ideology. Working within the party seems to be a far better solution for change than abandoning it for personal political aspirations.

Perhaps it would be a good political move, but what exactly would really be accomplished if the disgruntled dems switched parties?

Tea Party Dems. After the recent flips to Dems,  the Reps are exploring their options. HIGH rankers are chatting this up from both parties. Farley jr may be a catalyst also. I personally could care less. After election fallout is always amusing to say the least. Look at the State Senate for your blueprint for Working together works. The new gov would love a GOP majority. IMHO

Political waste
Marv Cermak

I don't know about you, but I'm thrilled the onslaught of political propaganda has finally come to a halt. Endless campaign mailers, eyesore candidate signs all over public land, annoying robocalls and relentless TV and radio political commercials.

Most people I spoke with said they threw the political junk mail into the trash without a glance. I kept all the mailers just to determine the count -- 66 of 'em. Boy, the money wasted on those costly gloss, four-color mailers could've filled dwindling food pantries.

It's interesting to note that candidates who sent out the most attack mailers wound up taking the worst shellackings. Sue Savage's campaign fired off eight postal attacks against Sen. Hugh Farley, who used the mails just twice against his opponent.

Angelo Santabarbara, like Savage a Democrat, launched five attack mailers against Assemblyman George Amedore, who shot back only once.

Farley gave Savage a lopsided vote thrashing 57,103-31,982, while Amedore easily disposed of Santabarbara, 20,253-14,379.

Savage bristled when Farley accused her of running a vicious campaign. Savage said she wasn't negative, she just told the truth about Honolulu Hugh's junkets, 680 tax hikes and so forth.

That really cracked me up. When reporters write the truth, Savage and other members of the political ilk, often characterize the newspeople as being negative.

Oh, well, I don't know why we make such a fuss over election outcomes. An old friend puts it in perspective saying, "The Republicans skin you up and the Democrats skin you down.''

Huh? Margins that Tonko won that district by? Are you talking about a decade or two ago when he ran against some terrible competition because Tonko's election this year was 57%-43% (in Montgomery & Schenectady County's) and Amedore's victory was 58.5%-41.5%... Amedore won by a larger percentage. Tonko won Montgomery County by only 400 votes!

I was speaking of Tonko's vote margins when he was running for State Assembly.

“And yet our opponents tell us not to interfere with abortion. They tell us not to impose our morality on those who wish to allow or participate in the taking of the life of infants before birth. Yet no one calls it imposing morality to prohibit the taking of life after a child is born. We’re told about a woman’s right to control her own body. But doesn’t the unborn child have a higher right, and that is to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?” – Ronald Reagan

They are starting to wake up that they have been okey doked by SS Savage. How about that County Home on Curry Rd? LOL! They always moan and groan about DEM leadership then go along. Savage and Stratton are the heckle and jeckle of local politics. Oh how the high have fallen. Niskayuna is also ripe for a complete turnover. I heard a rumor the Alliance Party is looking there. Nobody supports the SS Savage neighbor and buddy club destroying that town.

As far as Tonko barely winning Montgomery County-what do you expect? They know him best. He has done NOTHING for Amsterdam just like Schenectady. Wait until he has a well financed opponent. He's weak.

maybe the Schenectady County GOP will talk "Crazy Carl" Paladino into moving here from Buffalo and running
for Congress ...   they can't seem to find any one locally willing to run for any office

You seem to be having a similar problem for Assembly and State Senate. Maybe another REP will switch so you can con them into losing? -lol-

Can't wait to see the new DEM "machine" stooges for Mayor, City Council, Town Supervisors and County Legislature! Maybe they will run on the SS Savage/Stratton record! ROTFLMAO!! They need more time to work together and fund Metrograft "miracles".
