the chief can go to work in the Sheriff department and can put all the RPD men down in Hamilton Hill. How nice.

$50k going to a grad student class project? That's alot of highlighters and shiny copy paper.

Can we please get some Urban planners to Stratton's office first. Maybe they can inform him that the $19 mil round-about he wants for Erie Blvd is a lost cause. Stop wasting our taxpayer money for vain projects.

I'm not in favor of consolidation at any level. Each town in schenectady county has it's own specific demographic and populous. The are presently and should continue to be in control of their own desires, concerns and issues that effect their lives directly.

I'm sure that people will see Savage go down kicking and screaming if this ever happened. The county leg would lose ALL control. Something they are not so readily quick to give up! Rest assure that it would be for political motivation only. IMHO

"Working together works"? Another attempt to screw the town sheeple by having them pay for City police protection. It's also called income redistribution. Rob from Peter to pay Paul. And some moron is attempting to reach higher office with that laughable slogan?

Stratton has enough clueless planners (without credentials) what he needs is to clean out the many dead wood DEM hacks infesting City Hall. Ditto for the worst school district Upstate.

Quoted from benny salami

If you want to consolidate something? Start with the Village of Scotia. Disband it since it is already part of the town of Glenville.

Except that it is not up to the Mayor of Schenectady to disband or not disband Scotia .. and while
the village probably should be dissolved .. that move would NOT save tax payers in the city
a penny in taxes.

Yet no one calls it imposing morality to prohibit the taking of life after a child is born. We’re told about a woman’s right to control her own body. But doesn’t the unborn child have a higher right, and that is to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?” – Ronald Reagan

erosion of the towns.......washed right into the pit of the city......

It is at least worth looking into - if it can make proposals that will save taxpayer dollars.

By all means let's get some of that free money that everybody is talking about, and we think it's great. It's our money they're giving back to us because they overtaxed us in the first place so that the government has extra money to waste on programs in order to buy votes. Remember in November.

The grant would have gone someplace else -- if not to the City of Schenectady -- I'd rather
have the city use it and possibly derive some real long term budget savings from the
study's recommendations.

For the record - I am not convinced that a county wide Police Department is the answer -- at
least for those of us who live in Rotterdam and the outlying towns.
