I think you should send the property and school tax bill to Golub Corporation.   You can go back and
check the recordings of old town board meetings .. but I actually OPPOSED the town accepting that piece
of land as a "gift" from the Golub Corporation.    Too many strings were attached to the deal.

The 'strings' were.....THEY OPPOSED ANOTHER MARKET/FOOD BUSINESS!

Altamont Ave store

so people can WISH for a new shopping plaza to be built at the Curry Road Plaza .. but that
can't happen  .. according to the many restrictions.

Rotterdam can change zoning and spot zone at the drop of a hat, but we can't negotiate with the Golub Corp on land use?

I gotta idea.  DVOR can sit down with Neil Golub and tell him how retail development at Curry Road Plaza would create "consumer traffic" which would be a good thing for his Altamont Ave Store.  You would think a successful businessman like Neil Golub would understand that.  Maybe Neil is ignorant like me and doesn't understand the net good of tax subsidized competitive retail, huh DVOR?

Cicero/Kelly - why don't you go talk to Mr. Golub yourself.
and Mr Golub is a way LOT more intelligent than you

You're right, he is smart, he sits on Metroplex Board.  So he has a say in picking the winners and losers.  And he makes sure there is no funding for any Price Chopper competition.

Can anybody name any retail stores funded by Metroplex during its tenure?

Where do you get your information from???????

The idea of the towns facilities being relocated there was a joke to begin with. Are you forgetting that rotterdam is nothing more than a town with 2 lane STREETS???? Not highways.....STREETS!!! The infrastructure is so antiquated that there should be a a moratorium on future developments until a good comp plan is in place! But rotterdam has been waiting for that for years and years!

I was there attending the Town Board meetings when the "gift" of the plaza to Rotterdam was
being discussed.  It was ORIGINALLY intended to be used for a municipal center (police station
and town hall) --  so it was not intended to be "on the tax rolls" under the original plan.
The restrictions on what could be built (retail wise) on the front of the site were discussed way
back then.

The fact is the County Nursing Home would be a good use of the site - considering the
restrictions for how the site can be used  AND the fact that it was originally intended to be
used for a government related facility.

BTW -- Rotterdam has 3 huge highways running through it -- I-90, I-890, and I-88.

Many glendale employees take buses. There would have to be a more accessible bus line to accommodate them. Can Curry Road, a two lane street, handle the influx of CDTA buses, coupled with it's usual heavy traffic, (cars, tractor trailers)fire station and school buses?

If I am correct the Altamont Avenue bus now ends it route at Price Chopper -- a nursing home might
convince CDTA to extend the bus route down Curry Rd - they could probably widen the part right in
front of the Plaza -- the rest might be more difficult.

I know that there is ANOTHER study being done on Route 7 -- in my lifetime - I remember at least
3 or 4 studies being done .. and nothing comes of it.  So - yes - I agree that there may be a
traffic issue but I don't think it is unresovable.
