Oh I didn't realize the ban is that adults cannot patronize ice cream trucks.

WTF? You asked why roach coaches aren't banned and I told you why.

I never realized that they were actually banned.

I just thought that they didn't come around anymore because they SUCK, and nobody wanted to buy a bunch of freezer burned garbage that is kept under very questionable storage conditions.

My mother would have asked me point blank.
"Would you rather spend that $2 on one "ice cream", or would you rather go to The Dollar Store, and get a DOZEN of the same exact thing, for the same price?"

No children have been killed running to/from an ice cream truck in the Town of Rotterdam since the ban started in 1975..That sounds pretty effective to me.
You still have not answered the question, so I'll ask it again.
How many child deaths are acceptable to you?
It obviously is more than one, since you trivialize the '75 death of the 4 year old and blame it on the parent.

I can extend this argument to absurdity, but I won't.  If you think keeping the ban on ice cream trucks makes you feel safer, so be it.

Has anybody been killed by a pizza delivery driver? I hope not, I enjoy pizza delivery.

I guess its absurd for you to answer a SIMPLE question, you obviously don't have the guts to back up your earlier post.
Pretty poor example you came up with...
Children typically don't dash across the street at the sight of a Pizza Delivery truck, and the delivery driver doesn't wait in his vehicle for you to come to him.
I pretty confident the ban will stay in place, and you'll have to continue to burn a few calories to go to the store and get your Ice Cream.

I think Rotterdam should lift the ban on ice cream trucks - don't bother with the "trial period".

although the parents and the folks involved with ANY accident (none being more horrific than another)...it happens....and although there have been no children killed because of a Ding-a-Ling involvement
there have been kids maimed or had horrific injuries playing sports or just riding their bikes in the local neighborhoods.....IE:speed bumps on Argo......

fear is a killer of living life and it is later than you think

OOOOOH.....tippy.....life is a hassle,,,,if it wasn't then what would be the purpose.....? Really?......just breathe and live........it really is that simple.....the
consequences and boundaries are for after the FACT....there is no pre-emptive strike in safety or life.......America is built upon living now and
consequences and charges later(innocent until proven guilty)........breathe live enjoy.....that is harder than following the pre-emptive rules set out by
someone else(religious or other wise).........relax......if what you are doing is wrong someone will tell you.........those are American cajones......

How many times have you seen a car pass a stopped school bus when children are crossing the road to board the bus. We are training them to assume that the cars are going to stop and the children aren't as aware of the danger in crossing the roads as they should be. Even the bus drivers  have been guilty of running over students.

Between 1990 and 2000 there were 147 children deaths on playground equipment.  Gee, that's nearly 15 children deaths per year due to playground equipment.

I will answer your question 55bird, of course 1 death of a child is unacceptable, but banning ice cream trucks is not a sensible response.

Now answer my question, are 15 children deaths a year on playground equipment acceptable?  Will you proposing legislation banning playground equipment in Rotterdam?

The dollar stores come with their own ideology that everything should be cheap and easy and the responsibility that everyone else is responsible for my safety my
cost of living......the dollar store's storage conditions are just as questionable........care for some salmonella eggs?????

I don't care if there are ice cream trucks or not. I just don't see the need for them since there is ice cream EVERYWHERE!!! I don't remember hearing anyone from rotterdam saying there was a need for ice cream!
