Watching the news last night i noticed Rotterdam was under a water restriction

So doing my part I called to confirm odd days odd street number and so on.

what did i get ......(  not even the sound of a cricket    )

so i called a friend in the know and look at this

CONTACT: Town Supervisor

Rotterdam, NY - Effective immediately the Town of Rotterdam will be enforcing a water conservation
measure that includes any unnecessary watering until further notice

Due to weather conditions we feel that it is necessary to ensure the safety of our residents.
Considering the heat wave that we are experiencing tight now we believe that it is in our
best interest at this time.

This restriction will be lifted as soon as possible.  Until further notice your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

so......what is the measurement for necessary and unnecessary?????

I say Tippy's Lawn - no automated watering system and soil so nasty only red fescue will survive the dry spells

when mr police officer tells you to stop, what is the charge????

obstruction of justice?????

What is there to enforce?????

an opinion???

I can see it now Tippycanoe vs Town of Rotterdam : Docket US Supreme Court

My overall statement on the subject

What a  F$%^&^$@$& waste of paper, how green.

So how are the residents to know that this watering ban is in effect?   There was an article in the newspaper and it was on the news?   If you don't subscribe to the newspaper, you don't get the notification?   If you use a computer, don't rely on the Town's website...it has not been updated to reflect the ban that has been in effect since Wednesday.   It still provides the normal "sprinkling regulations".

This must make the pool business slow.
