Quoted Text
Nearly 1,300 prison inmates wrongly received more than $9 million in tax credits for homebuyers despite being locked up when they claimed they bought a home, a government investigator reported Wednesday.
The investigator said 241 of the inmates were serving life sentences.
In all, more than 14,100 taxpayers wrongly received at least $26.7 million in tax credits that were meant to boost the nation's slumping housing markets, said the report by J. Russell George, the Treasury Department's inspector general for tax administration.
Some taxpayers received the credit for homes purchased before the tax break was started. In other cases, multiple taxpayers improperly used the same home to claim multiple credits. Investigators found one home that was used by 67 taxpayers to claim credits.

This is a failure of two government departments to communicate not a failure of the program or of Obama's. |

That's like blaming the failures of the intelligence gathering services on Bush. Sorry the programs knew the information wasn't being shared in that case either. Now unless in either case the heads of those departments were crying for change that the president ignored then I don't blame the president for those failures. |

There was waste in the stimulus bill payments, the GM bailout, the Omnibus bill, and now the tax credits to buy a house. The only common denominator between all of them is the Obama administration. This administration is full of the most brilliant radical liberal scholars that have ever been assembled and none of them have ever run a successful business and now they're trying to regulate one of the biggest economies in the world what did you expect. |

I see the common denominator as the American people- you know the 99 per cent with no ambition and no imagination- the ones thinking that problems are caused or can be fixed by some stinking administration . Sorry dude its the people not the government. Best regards- A liberal capitalist |

I thought everything was Bush's fault? |
| The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out for himself, without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane and intolerable, and so, if he is romantic, he tries to change it. And even if he is not romantic personally he is apt to spread discontent among those who are. ~ H.L. Mencken |

Explain to us how the American people passed the stimulus, GM bailout, Omnibus, and giving tax credits to inmates when it was the Dems who were in charge of all the programs mentioned. |
