Guess Joe Barton's Largest Corporate Donor?

Anadarko Petroleum has given nearly $150,000 to Rep. Joe Barton's - $56,500 in PAC donations and another $90,000 in individual contributions.

Anadarko is also BP's partner on the site where the oil leak occurred, and according to Dow Jones, has already been invoiced by BP for its share of the clean up costs.

Obama biggest recipient of BP cash

During his time in the Senate and while running for president, Obama received a total of $77,051 from the oil giant and is the top recipient of BP PAC and individual money over the past 20 years, according to financial disclosure records.

The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out for himself, without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane and intolerable, and so, if he is romantic, he tries to change it. And even if he is not romantic personally he is apt to spread discontent among those who are. ~ H.L. Mencken

Next......disband all lobbyist and pac/nonprofits/corporate/union/campaign contributions. Personal contributions only and with a resonable cap attached.  This clearly sets up the electorate to an uneven playing field for representation. This also sets up one section of society against another. This is getting out of hand!

Until this changes, we will continue to see more and more of this in the future.

...did everyone get the memo today from Barton? I got mine. He said that pigs are flying over the gulf now, and they are brightly painted in red white and blue, having escaped from a Louisiana hog farm. we must all go out and repeat it since he is our leader. yes, we all agree, we are zombies. ooops. I got conservatives confused with the left wing.

Let's focus on some unknown Congressman instead of the inept POTUS? Gee who was the largest recipient of BP political contributions? Right President Obama again. Always first in line for the cash.

At least he could have accepted foreign skimmers. Instead of bowing to the Saudi King accept his aid offer. But then gasoline prices wouldn't rise like President Obama wants. No wonder his approval rate keeps tanking. Now at 41% and crashing. Give him a couple more months and he'll be at Paterson numbers. But he still has 2 supporters on the Rotterdam blog-lol.

George W Bush would have given his left testicle to have left office with a 41% approval rating.

President Obama's approval ratings are quite ordinary compared to most modern presidents.  Obama's approval ratings are very similar to Ronald Reagan's at this stage in his presidency.
