Can someone recap what is everyone is up in arms about over EE.  I am in the dark on this issue having only recently taken an interest in local politics.  I like to know what happened in as moderate a voice as possible so I can form my opinion.

I suggest reviewing the threads already in existence.  They have all the newspaper articles already cited.

Some of the reps here are okay, they are willing to see logic and debate an issue out.  Others...like bumble, just yell 'trust me' at the end of every post and think he is making any sense at all.

i will make every effort below to keep my opinion on the sideline

I will start three years ago

the clerks office has in it's headcount  (1) CSEA Typist who was EE's deputy clerk and deputy reg of vital stats.

sometime in that year employee(1) departs

EE appoints a deputy clerk and deputy reg of vital stats. employee(2)- mid 2008

under CSEA rules this position must be filled in one year by one of the top three candidates who have taken a "typist test"

the town HR checks on the current list in late fall early winter of 2008 and finds that the list will be current in early spring of 2009 - typing test was given in fall of 2009

the employee(2) is not in the top three candidates and under the union rules must vacate the position

employee(3) is seated in the position in june of 2009

sometime in 2009 the town attorney submits evidence to NYS comptrollers office concerning the town clerk notarizing documents for a dead person

***************
(inside the *** may be out of order)

in august of 2009 eunice has a medical issue leaving the town with no deputy town clerk or deputy reg of vital stats - 3-5 days in the hospital

Standing  NYS law mandates a deputy of reg. of vital stats to handle marriage and death certs to back up the reg of vital stats

the town board attempts to name a deputy reg of vital stats with stipend  - august 2009 - fails
**************
in fall of 2009 the town board names employee(3) the deputy reg of vital stats till 1/1/2010

1/1/2009 EE does not name any deputy

early 2010 EE publicly admits to notarizing a document without the person requesting the notary in front of her - the person requesting the notary at the time of the request is dead

march 2010 EE's notary privilege is temporally revoked
(it should be noted the importance of a notary - any notary can make certain a transfer of property with out a mortgage, this new deed can be filed with the county clerk -thus the value of a notary)

jan 1 thru late march the town does not have a deputy clerk or deputy reg of vital stats

sometime feb 2010 a town resident FOILS "permanent handicap tags" without documentation - this request was denied

sometime early march 2010 a town resident FOILS "permanent handicap tags" without documentation - this request was granted for a large sum of $$

mid march 2010 a workplace grievance is filed against EE

employee(3) is removed from the clerks office

late march 2010 early april 2010 EE takes a 90 day leave and MG is named deputy clerk for $32k and employee(3) claims that employee(3), given tough economic times, will do deputy clerk and deputy reg of vital stats for $0(zero)

early april 2010 FDG claims EE only has to work 1(one) day for $52,000/year

late april 2010 MG named deputy of reg vital stats and town marriage officer for $0(zero)

between jan 1 and now
handicapped tag numbers and address with out documentation are posted on this board
employee(2) says via a facebook she will not get the job she was promised

Tippy--we all realize that you are in some way an injured party from the Clerk's office that has been leaking out and spreading things on this board.

You left out the part that with re: to the "dead guy" there is a good chance that a holdover, a sour grapes holdover, set EE up with that one.  EE in her compassionate way, tried to help the family by not making the person come in.  Why hs no one gone after the family of this person and charged them with fraud and falsifying records?

If Employee 2 is on Facebook spreading this info, best she left the job.  Facebook is a highly inappropriate way to handle oneself in the business world.

EE did admit her guilt yes--but what were the circumstances that caused her to do it.  Leaking out addresses relative to handicap stickers is also a violation of what's appropriate.  Speak to some other clerks in neighborhing towns, they were appalled that you were leaking that out.

Tippy's recount of events is informative and accurate!    When are the EE supporters going to stop defending her illegal actions?

I have to laugh at this.  Tippy got his/her info. from employees (1) and (2) who were disgruntled
because they were PROMISED their jobs back by EE and instead stabbed her in the back when it
didn't pan out.

Well that is informative.  It appears employee (2) is disgruntled they couldn't keep the job that EE appointed them too.  It doesn't seem to be her fault, just a rule of CSEA.  Facebook is not meant to discuss those types of things and the parting is a good thing if that is the way this person acted.

It seems that she should lose her notary status, but there are a lot of notaries in the town limits so I don't consider that a huge deal.  Plus, it appears MG is likely a notary given the position she holds.  Being TC is an elected position its not a requirement to be a notary to hold the position (as far as I can tell).

However, I'm unclear on the handicap FOIL thing?  Can you explain?

the notary is a honor given to the town clerk for the term of office

the common person is given a test and pays a reoccurring fee for the honor and given "no quarter" by NYS dept of state on abuse of the position

so for those who have taken the time, taken the test, and payed the fee it is a BFD

there are claims EE was duped

if EE RTFM and demanded each in person requesting a notary stand before her with their photo ID there would have been no issue - at least with me

so just for fun and i am not picking on "Sync" but the issue could happen to them

a notary who does not demand an individual stand before them with their photo id could
allow the transfer of 1.817 million dollars of property from "sync" to anyone who asked
notarize a deed and file it with the county clerk - done deal
note that sync is a foreign corp and the property has no mortgage
so i my eyes this is a 1.817 million dollar big deal!!!!
a notary protects your personal property and my personal property
