Carney's future
Marv Cermak

Pundits are speculating that Schenectady County District Attorney Bob Carney is interested in running for state attorney general if Andrew Cuomo makes his expected run for governor.

Not going to happen, according to some close to Carney. Carney has told friends he would like to run for a state Supreme Court judgeship.

Wondering about the next court election, I left a phone message for Vito Caruso, the judicial district's administrative justice. Hours later, instead of a return call I got my info when we bumped supermarket shopping carts.

Caruso said depending on retirements, as many as four judgeships could be decided in the 2012 general election. Carney, always a big vote-getter, won his sixth straight four-year DA term running unopposed last fall.

No doubt the Democrat's popularity soared even more when he successfully prosecuted Steve Raucci in one of the region's most celebrated court cases in recent memory.............>>>>.............>>>>.........Read more: http://www.timesunion.com/AspS.....0/2010#ixzz0ldqSspgg

WHAT?????

Why would anyone even consider an elected official from the city of schenectady? The city/county is the highest taxed, crime ridded, jobless county in the state. Carney is known in schenectady for his 'plea deals', not his convictions. Plea deals ARE his convictions!

Perhaps the raucci case will carry his reputation, UNTIL more information emerges.
