SCHENECTADY -- The Golub Corp., parent company of the Price Chopper grocery chain, has begun moving into its new headquarters in Schenectady.
Company spokeswoman Mona Golub said some employees this week began transferring to the building, and said that process will continue until May.
The six-story, brick-and-glass building will eventually house 800 to 1,000 Golub employees. The headquarters is on Nott Street, not far the city's downtown.
Watch for several businesses (Roman Villa, Tops, Gulf/Cumberland Farms, etc.) to be severly impacted by the move of workers "across town".
And watch for the first newspaper headline of a Golub worker being jumped in the parking lot or in the area nearby. That area is not nearly as safe as the location in Rotterdam IMHO.
I worry about being jumped leaving work in downtown all the time, but i usually thumb my knife in my pocket while walking to my car. Although, it's most likely bringing a knife to a gun fight.
Reports people who work under the table and collects benefits, and you should too!
If you ever have to defend yourself and actually have to stab someone in this city they will arrest you. Best rule to follow is "I'd rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6".

Tops may see a decrease in business, but it will survive. They offer a quality product at a fair price.
"If we can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them, they must become happy."
The birds will come home to roost for the crumbs the seniors leave behind. And the sewers that AREN'T are already filled with the excrement of the masses CHA-CHING! WHO IS ON THE TAKE? See what the feds have hooked up for Rottendam and ask what you can have done for yourselves and not what you can do for each other.
They can't afford them and them can't afford they.
