Golub Corporation --small business. I am sitting here with a CEO of another very large business and a VP from the biggest firm in the area--an international firm They feel you are walking in the dark re: Golub. Everyone here is quite familar and friendly with the owners of Casa Visco, Adirondack, Sofco, and Pede. No one agrees with you. We all appreciate ALL the things Golub does for the community. You are just unfamiliar with what it takes to run small business. Certainly those businesses benefit. Unfortunately you do not understand the bigger picture. However, I am not that interested in debating it further. |

Come on Cal, I want you and your imaginary executives to school everybody on the evils of the Golub Corp. And why Morgan Stanley was much more deserving of the failed, unionized, Penn Traffic stores.
I'm sure those executives you are sitting with agree with you about the Golubs having too much money. I'm sure if they had that type of success, they would limit their companies profits. Who are you keeping company with tonight, CEO Karl Marx and VP Joseph Stalin? |

Ally clearly is either an anti-capitalist liberal or needs to take a course in marketing and economics/competition. And sounds just like one of rotterdams finest red neck hicks who can't see beyond their own nose. If ally really knew history, ally would have know that it was WALMART who began the small mom and pop store invasion. Now that leaves golub and every other business a choice.....either cave or compete. I believe the later is more appropriate. Now that is DOING BUSINESS! Funny ally, how you mention casa visco and pede.....I believe that their products are actually sold in price chopper stores. And sofco use to be the main company to supply golubs paper products. But I'm sure you know that Sofco sold, right? And if you are referring to adirondack beverage, there products are also sold in price chopper stores. In fact, I have friends and family members who actually work for a couple of the above named businesses and they are grateful for the price chopper accounts. So you should really be careful what you post here when referencing businesses that are making money by shelving their products to price chopper supermarkets unless you are their spokesperson and have their permission to do so. |

First Bubmble I know a whole lot more than you think, Also I did not post the names of the businesses Cicero did. Go back to a prior page and read HIS.HER post. No Walmart did not put Mom and Pop grocery stores out of business. Also if you knew anything about marketing you wouldn't have made this post.
PriceChopper is BIG business whether you believe it or not. Nobody is denying Golub the right to make money. However, his spirit of competition does not encourage or include small business. Here's how it works --if it was a retail clothing store, it would benefit other small retailers to open up in his mall. Because he would be a draw.
As far as Pede and Casa Visco go--I've known them longer than you've been around. That also includes A.ngelo Mastroangelo who is the original owner of Adirondack. And yeah Sofco is one of MY suppliers. Yeah I stayed with Sofco long after Eddie Longo and Gus were out of it. Casa Visco and Pede also give their stuff away to the FoodBank. You don't know sh--! |

Gee, Sofco is one of your suppliers. Hmmmm,,, you must get a substantial delivery. Do you own a redistribution center? Last I knew, about 5 years ago they were sold to Bunzl, and English company. Bunzl doesn't peddle to small mom and pop businesses, they deal more with bulk delivery. Like a $500 minimum order, maybe even more. But I'm sure you knew that. It's Bunzl Scotia, NOT Sofco, it should say it on your invoices. I'm sure the CEO and VP knew Bunzl bought Sofco Scotia from U.S. Foodservice. Must of been a typo. |

YOU, not cicero, stated that your ceo and vp friend implied that casa visco, adirondack, sofco and pede do not agree with cicero's POSITIVE stance on golub. Which leads everyone reading this to believe that these 4 businesses YOU named think about golubs as you, your ceo and vp friend does.....in a negative light! |

By Cicero: "Local small businesses that benefit from Price Chopper's success."
-Casa Visco -Adirondack beverage -Sofco -Local Corn Farmers -Pede Brothers -Power Pallet
Nobody indicated any such thing. You said it and no one else. I do not speak for any of those businesses nor did I suggest their names. Again it was Cicero. Bumble and Cicero--you make a great team--comedy that is. |

Yup you would be correct! $500 min. order and Bunzi is the name.
No, BUNZ L is the name. Check one of your invoices, maybe they misprinted some. Let them know, maybe they'll cut your bill 10%. |

Yes, my post implies that these companies rely on Price Choppers success because they are a large portion of their business. In your post, you make the claim just the opposite. That these business are somehow hurt by Golubs growth and expansion. In the same paragraph you claim that the businesses benefit, yet in the "big picture" they get hurt. That's pretty crafty double speak. |
