ROTTERDAM Kids, crafters gather at Jefferson Event raises program money, offers gift opportunities BY JASON SUBIK Gazette Reporter
As snow began to fall outside Jefferson Elementary School Saturday many of its pupils were inside enjoying a pizza lunch with Santa Claus. The annual Jefferson Elementary School lunch with Santa event served as a fundraiser for the school’s Parent Teacher Organization and the Schalmont Central School District music program. Along with Santa there was also a bake sale, craft fair and fundraisers for other not-for-profit groups. PTO co-president Lisa Koveleskie said there were about 60 vendors in the craft fair Saturday and the PTO took in about $1,800 just from participation fees. She said the fundraising helps her organization support programs for the elementary school. “We do so many things for the kids. We have in-house programs where authors will come in,” she said. “We give money to the 5th graders for their end-of-the-year field trip. We support other fi eld trips.” ...........................>>>>................>>>>...........http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01501&AppName=1
