NY has 7th highest tax rate
The Business Review (Albany)

New York’s combined state and average local sales tax rate is 8.3 percent, the seventh highest in the country, according to the Tax Foundation.

New York’s tax rate is 4 percent; the average local sales tax rate is 4.3 percent.

The highest combined rates were in Tennessee (9.41), California (9.06), Washington state (8.7, Oklahoma (8.44) and Louisiana (8.43).

Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire and Oregon have combined rates of 0 percent.

Surprises me... I can't believe 6 other states have it worse then us.. we won't rest till were number 1  !!!!
