Ok...the old draper school is in immediate need of a lawn mowing! It looks crappy! Who's in charge there?

I actually agree with you and am kidding around, sorry.

ALthough, you have to admit, when you pass by it, you must get that "twinge" to do it yourself, i know i do.  It's that bad.

Yes.....I agree! And if I had the time, I would do it just to embarrass the folks that are responsible for it. Then send them a bill!

This HAS to be the fault of all Republicans from Nixon on down, right?

Who am I??

I propose we do a study to see how crappy the old Draper School really looks.  And after we get the study back, well pay our town attorney $5000 to take a look at the results of the study to see if we need another study.

Eyesore school in limbo over title
Legal status of former charter school uncertain

Tuesday, September 1, 2009
By Justin Mason (Contact)
Gazette Reporter

ROTTERDAM — Weeds continue to choke the grounds surrounding the defunct International Charter School of Schenectady and the building’s future maintenance remains in question as it awaits a new owner to take title of the property.
Town officials have cited the property twice for its unkempt appearance and are preparing to bring the grounds up to town code sometime this week. Yet the increasingly derelict school building remains in ownership limbo because its mortgage holder hasn’t accepted the title.
The charter school’s attorney, Harold “Chip” Gordon, said the school has already given the keys to the 94,000-square-foot structure to First Niagara Bank, the building’s mortgage holder. But since that time the bank hasn’t moved to take legal control of the property, he said.
Gordon said the charter school’s board of trustees is anxious to end the “sad chapter” and intends to petition the state Board of Regents this fall for permission to terminate their corporation, even if the bank hasn’t accepted the title. If approved, he said the school also will need to petition the state Supreme Court for the right to dissolve.
If the bank fails to take title to the property, under state law the charter school’s assets would be offered to the Mohonasen Central School District. If the district opted to take control of the property, it wouldn’t be responsible for the roughly $7 million mortgage that is owed to First Niagara.
But if Mohonasen did accept the school building, Gordon said, the bank could always opt to foreclose on the 3.5-acre property and sell it at auction. He said the entire situation is fairly unprecedented.
“No one is quite clear what will happen under these circumstances,” he said Monday. “We’re in very uncharted legal waters.”.................................>>>>.........................>>>>..................http://www.dailygazette.com/news/2009/sep/01/0901_eyesore/
