Schenectady officials are puzzled at reports of a portable toilet set up on the front lawn of city home as part of a long weekend celebration that drew dozens of people to the neighborhood.

Gary McCarthy, City Council Public Safety Committee chairman, said he was unaware of the situation. He said placing the temporary facility in a rear yard for an event made some sense, but he questioned having it located next to the sidewalk.''

"I doubt there is a law on the books to deal with this,'' McCarthy said. "But if this is the start of something new, there will be one.''

Now the city council will pass a toilet law to keep portable toilets out of sight, look around, parts of Schenectady look like a dump and they don't care about that.

Where are people's brains here? Who, in their right mind would put one of these things right in FRONT of their house? By a sidewalk no less. Haven't they ever heard of the word 'privacy'? geezzzz

There is no 'going down' in a port-o-potty-------they carry shit around,,,then dump it.....I feel sorry for their neighbors...

Maybe as a symbol, we should put 15 of them right outside the county building.

Stop complaining! They might have gone right in the street!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

As Jiffy Jeffy's kid said "plenty of crap floating around here!"

Great idea Mr. March-instead of opponents putt 2 sani-john's outside. Put three outside City Hall. Put another one outside Metrograft offices. Nobody will say nuthin-and give re-assessment appealers another option.

Gee...it wouldn't surprise me if the city puts a 'user fee' on  people who have portopottys in their yard. They will make you get a permit, for a fee, before you can have one on your property.

And of course they will tell you exactly what 'authorized' company you can get it from.
