Mohon teacher is biased against Christianity

Re June 12 letter, “Mohon class so much more than writer implied,” from Jack Woodward: Yes, it is much more than the writer implied.
Apparently we have a teacher so consumed with prejudice and intolerance toward a religion, that when showing a biased film, he claimed he didn’t realize it was hateful and a misrepresentation of the religion. What Nick Coupas did was to open the school to a lawsuit, which any student (or their parent) who took the class can do at no cost, simply by contacting the Alliance Defense Fund.
As a taxpayer I am shocked that a teacher would be allowed to impose their personal biases on students and waste tax dollars trying to defend him in a lawsuit.
As a Christian I am horrified that my tax dollars are allowing a teacher to teach students to hate my religion. Has Mr. Coupas taught students the basics of Christianity? When Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment was, he replied, “To love the Lord with all your heart, and the second is to love your neighbor as yourself.”
Mr. Coupas may make a great math teacher, but should not be allowed to teach any course that allows him to express his own personal biases.

Hopefully the teacher used the movie to show how media(any media, including this forum at times) can make a person
narrow minded and 'stupid predjudice', ignorant and foolish when not researching it ALL for themselves,,,,instead of relying on the
"they told me" "they said" and blah blah blah........

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Nick Coupas is a great teacher. We are lucky to have a guy like him teaching in our school system. And he teaches high school social studies, not math!!!

No body said he wasn't a good teacher.

And can you just imagine what would have happened to Mr. Coupas or any other teacher if they were teaching AGAINST THE MUSLIM RELIGION!

Hell....it would have been on cnn and fox news! And the school would have been sued and the teacher probably would have lost his/her job!
