No argument with Mr. March or LAJ. Yes, the sales tax is from the residents County. But when 3 car dealers from one County {or the County Line} are closed the major impact will be on Schenectady County. There is one new car dealership in the City-Mohawk Honda-20 years ago there were many dealers along State St in the City. They are all closed.

As far as John Marcella's he is a great guy and I wish him every success. This is a loss for Mt Pleasant for Downtown's gain. No net increase for this County.

I agree and am sure Marcella's will continue with their success.

One just wonders if Marcella could have afforded this move without the help of the taxpayer. I mean Marcella's is one of the top in the COUNTRY! Marcella's would have had to foot the entire bill if it left the area, right?

Probably.  And they didn't want to try to get out of business in the area by selling a store that they're paying inflated taxes on, in an area that is ridden with crime that the city won't do anything about, so they did the only thing they thought they could...took someone else's money to fix their own problems...call it a Schenectady County Bailout vis a vis the federal programs that have become so popular under both the former and current Presidents and Congresses.

This looks like a badly scripted SCTV out take.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
