I have a friend (husband, wife and small well behaved, couch potato, 7 year old dog) looking to rent an apartment as soon as possible. Will consider all areas except the city.  2 or more bedrooms, quiet area preferred. Apartment or house. All rents considered. Might also be open to an "option" to buy for the right place.

I agree...who would move to the city of schenectady 'on purpose'? Well, unless you are looking for welfare and a ton of government programs to support you.

OK, let's help this person get out of the city ... I'll start looking for some suggestions.  This sounds like a worthwhile "cause" for me.

Yes, I handle rentals.  I have provided a list of properties to JoAnn to forward to her friend.  Though real estate agents don't earn much commission on leasing rental properties, I try to help those who request my services.

I just came through Rotterdam Junction from Amsterdam - cute LITTLE 2br house 15 Elm Street - nice quiet dead end, at the end of the street - but I called and they wanted $1700/mo for it.
