Thanks for the tip MT. I haven't heard anything about this. But can you blame them?

Blue flight? Word has it about two dozen Schenectady police officers have filed applications with other Capital Region police agencies seeking lateral transfers.

According to several unimpeachable law enforcement sources, who asked to remain nameless, officers looking elsewhere are fed up with a string of foul-ball cops who have given the department a black eye.

In recent times, six officers went to prison, several resigned or were fired for various forms of duty dereliction, and suspensions were widespread.

Others in the department of 155 or so want out, saying they will be stuck in uniform jobs for almost all of their career, because seniority is the route for promotion to investigator.

In the past two years, Niskayuna, Glenville, Rotterdam, Guilderland and Troy departments have each hired one Schenectady officer.

On the other hand, three New York City officers transferred to Schenectady. They were originally Capital Region residents, who decided they wanted to return to this area.

Interestingly, in recent years, two cops quit to join the Albany Police Department, but both returned to the Schenectady force.

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
