I just received a flyer in today's mail touting Senator Farley's accomplishments of delivering increased school aid and lowering property taxes.  Upon actually reading though, his property tax relief and associated benefits are proposals so it hasn't happened.  Hey...I voted for the guy but it's these types of mailings that really burn me.  Assemblyman Amedore periodically still sends out garbage flyers too telling me how much relief he's fighting for.  Give me a break.  Get me the relief.  I'll know I got it and from who but please save me the repeated trumped up claims of being my champion.

They must be gearing up for the next election. Cause we haven't seen hide nor hair of either of them. Nor do I really even know what they have accomplished.

Let the flyers begin.  Mr. Amedore arrived in my mailbox touting the ever-popular change that's coming.
Albany is broken and he's fighting to fix it.  Spare me.  (I hate political flyers.)

Oh come on now...we all must admit that these fliers get interesting when they start slinging the mud! It then sounds like a sick soap opera and gets old real fast! And if it weren't so politically pathetic...it would be funny. I say, scrap the fliers and save a tree!

Heat the freakin' house with 'em......maybe they can toss us the $$ they decided to finally reign in, due to the economy, so we can burn it FOR THEM......
in effigy of course......

I don't think it was really 'advertising'. It just went along with the thread subject. I found it interesting actually. (I guess I need a life, huh)?

I received another flyer today from Mr. Amedore, making the score now Amedore: 3 , Blanchfield: 1.  For me, this is like golf...low score wins. (by no means do I mean that it determines my ultimate vote, yet it is certainly a factor if I'm undecided...too many earns a demerit)

3 more Amedore (2 in same day), 2 more Blanchfield since my last update.  That makes it 6 to 3 now.

On a related note, did anyone catch Channel 6 news last night about the proliferation of Gillibrand / Treadwell signs in Clifton Park?  Voters interviewed clearly thought it disgraceful, wasteful, and ineffective yet the candidates seemed amused by it and mentioned it's simply part of the process.  I figure if they waste their own money like that, how do you think they'll treat ours?

Show me a cheeseburger chain that didn't advertise. Show me a beer that didn't brand itself. How about a soft drink or an automobile? I defy you to give me good examples of profitable firms you have never heard of or politicians you voted for through word of mouth.

Oh, that's right- you don't remember their names.

I actually have not received many campaign fliers at all. Now lawn signs are another matter. I don't like them at all!! To me it is nothing more than a 'visual poll' on how many residents support a certain candidate. Kind of like, the candidate with the most signs out there, is the winner. Not to mention that they clutter up a community. I always can't wait until after election day to see these sign gone!!!

At least when campaign fliers come to our homes, we have the option to read them or toss them. The signs are just 'in your face'.
