FORT EDWARD - A former Fort Ann High School boys varsity basketball coach was sentenced today in Washington County Court to 60 days in jail and 10 years' probation for felony sexual conduct.
Jared Bromley, a second-year coach and fifth-grade teacher, was arrested in February 2007 for "allowing and encouraging" two boys, then both 13, to perform sexual acts on themselves in his presence on school grounds, authorities have said. Bromley plead guilty last year, and was sentenced for second-degree sexual conduct, a class D felony, in front of Judge Kelly McKeighan. Fort Ann School Superintendent Maureen VanBuren said Bromley submitted his resignation last February after his arrest. His teaching certificate was revoked.
