Germany moves
to ban Scientology

BERLIN — Germany’s interior minister called the Church of Scientology “an unconstitutional organization” and said the nation’s domestic intelligence agency would move to ban the group, a report said Sunday.
Federal Interior Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble’s remarks followed a unanimous decision Friday by interior ministers from Germany’s 16 states to seek a ban on Scientology, accused of threatening “the peaceful democratic order” of the country.
“Scientology is an unconstitutional organization,” Schaeuble was quoted as saying by the Bild am Sonntag weekly, which featured a picture of Scientology’s most prominent member — Tom Cruise — the front with the headline “How dangerous is the Cruise cult?”
Schaeuble accused the organization of restricting “essential basic and human rights like the dignity of man or the right to equal treatment,” and said federal and state intelligence agencies would begin collecting evidence to seek a ban on the group.

While I wholly disagree with anything that Scientology vows as their beliefs, I still say they have the right to meet.  I guess that's one difference between this country and Germany (or the rest of the world as it is).

Hitler has NOT left the building and the Minority Report is alive and well......keep the folks in the dark and continue status quo......

Germany's domestic intelligence agency is collecting data,,,,hhhmmmm,,,,,I bet they have a 'Patriot Act' and 'Homeland Security' too.....boy, they like to stuff this crap in our face and call it what---yup, SECURITY......

let me just say this for the record----baaaaa, baaaaaa the sheep are moving and not looking and seeing or listening and hearing........

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

I agree with you BK, I don't believe in the doctrine of Scientology, but they should have a right to assemble and worship as they wish. If it weren't for Tom Cruise, no one would even care.

Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil,
