Sneak a $65 MILLION new home? The State will not fully reimburse this County. Someone on this idiot County Legislature better wake up fast. More are questioning why we need them at all. BTW, at the last meeting both Holly and Angelo seemed comatose. They only time they spoke was to say PRESENT.

They don't care about the cost. They only care about a sledding hill which Landslide assures will be preserved.

So did she tell them exactly how much this thing was gonna cost?

The cost of 'building' a nursing home is one thing. How much it will cost the taxpayers in government union wages and life time benefits is quite another.

if plans fall through in glenville would you put a county home in rotterdam?

As stated by myself on a number of occasions - I think Rotterdam would be a great place for the county nursing home.

The benefit to keeping it in Glenville is that the county already owns the land.

Don't worry about the proposed site in Rotterdam -- there are plenty of potential uses for that property.

it REALLY IS 'survival/comfort' of the fittest....that IS who we are......I dont know any soft words for this.....it IS what happens to us
government building or not......it IS cheaper without government influence.....the problem is that we choose NOT to use our judicial
system on those who provide care on our 'underserved'(albeit their choice/ability) due to political assertions/affiliations/friendships etc...
I dont care, as I hope I will have the perfect healthcare proxy.....

advice: learn learn learn,,,,what happens when you get old and write the sh!t down!!!!!!!!

That's fine for the rich, to have "elder planning" done and "write the sh*t down."   But what about those elderly who never owned a home and have no assets.  If it's surivval of the fittest, does that mean we dump the sick elderly out on the street to die?  We've just known personally or met too many people in our lives that indeed had no assets, no pensions, etc. and their only income is Soc Sec which then is supplemented by welfare.  While they have to be on medicare, they also have medicaid to pay the expenses beyond that.

how much senior house does Rotterdam need.....I'm beginning to think the State has made Schenectady a dumping ground of
sorts...(by agreement of course).....you can dump as long you pay 'the fee'.....

my point being....it's too late...they were lied and cheated and sold a bag of crap.....I think it would be different if family did the care
taking(not pointing fingers just painting a picture), but in the past 40years we've 'come a long way' and the requirement is for
2 incomes in a household whether it be for comfort or need I dont know.....as women have been schooled and work(good thing)
society's free labor market has left.....same with childcare.....women make the society more socialist....but, now that there are
gay couples they can pick society's free labor--him or him/her or her........

the cost of the work involved in taking care of the elder is large,,,whether we pay someone else to do it or we stay home and do it....
I dont do it for free and I'm not cheap.....but, it is still a business where the workers (certified nurse assistants) get railroaded and
ripped off, having said that the union sucks-blood......

and those folks who only have SS/medicare/medicaid get exactly that.....if a person doesn't find that acceptable then they can
do what Trump/Gates/Golub and any number of folks who chose that path.....it's who they are and we are who we are.....it NEVER looks
pretty....even folks who planned---they still cant deal with aging and disease.......NO ONE LIKES IT!!! We try to hide it with
paint, chairs, carpet etc.....but it never turns out to be mamby-pamby land........

There clearly is a need for a medicaid county home.....A PRIVATIZED MEDICAID COUNTY HOME. A nursing home without county unionized employees who make lucrative wages and life time benefits. Problem solved!

The new nursing home is necessary and will be built.     Now let's move on and tackle the other big issues
such as consolidating services and outright consolidating all the municipalities in the county into 1 City-County.
