The only time that I go downtown these days is to catch a good show at Proctors, usually an oldies concert. Then we go in a group and stick to well lit main streets.

I only go downtown for Proctors 'every once in awhile' as well. I think it will be the younger generation that will be going now. The 'good old days' are a thing of the past. This will be the 'new' downtown.

Went to jazz on Jay again.....obviously it was raining,,,,it was at the library....very nice.....

That one block of State Street may be 'nice', but what about the rest of the city? Instead of 'DOWNTOWN MAKING A COMEBACK' what about hearing 'SCHENECTADY MAKING A COMEBACK'? All of Schenectady!!!!

I have actually talked to some Guyanese who are somewhat dismayed with this area. They said that they were encouraged to move here, to buy homes with low interest rates and to find work. They all found homes with low interest rate loans....BUT....'there are no jobs'! Some are on public assistance and some are looking to move back to NYC. How sad!

But Schenectady is in good shape if you believe the democratic controlled city and county councils. They have accomplished great things and now we're know to have one of the highest tax rates in the country and get darn little for the taxes paid too.

"Downtown making a comeback"?
One or two blocks.

Sex offender law?
A costly joke.

Metroplex?
Thank the taxpayers.

Higher paying jobs?
Should have been first priority.

The democratic controlled city?

We must like it because we the residents have been putting up with it for years now. How about we try something different for a change and actually get something in return from the city for our tax money.
